peterizrandom that's part of why I show my hands while I work. I try to rest my hand as much as I can on the surface so the only movement comes from my fingers.
@@MarkShaffer IIRC I believe it was you, I spoke to in my my earliest infacy of microsoldering, and asked something akin to "if there was one thing you wish you would have known right at the start, what would that be" - and you told me about the resting of your arms and hands on the table as much as possible, only moving the fingers. I have passed this lesson of "decoupling" (?) the tremors of the larger muscles and joints in your arms like this, on multiple times to other newbies, and others generally struggling with doing more rudimentary soldering due to shakes.
@@pr0xZen awesome! I love hearing stories like this. We have students from time to time that have to figure out how to work around tremors. It's totally possible to do this type of work successfully even with those issues, you just have to find ways to work around your limitations.
Hi Mark, thanks for the video's. They help a lot. I managed to fix my first iphone 6 lsd. Very satisfying feeling :) I got the phone cheap for practising. still not fixed completly. display doesnt rotate (and compass is not working) Perhaps you know from experience if this could it be related to lsd?
I answered my own question. OSCAR_TO_IMU_SPI_SCLK jumper line was touching another jumper. probably happened when cleaning up with alcohol. should have tested it before applying the UV mask stuff :)
Hi Mark. That via at 8:50.. What that via is for? I have soldered 4 trace at same screw hole and and in continuity mode all gived beeb but still no image. That same via seems to be delaminated. It moves down littlebit if I bush it. Is it probably the reason I have no image? How deep the contact is in that same spot if I dig it? To me making jumper under cpu is impossible 🙈
Inspiraattori that is on the LCM reset line and goes down one layer farther. I have at least 3 LSD videos where I have to dig down to 3rd layer there so check other videos
If my 1.8v line via on the far left is missing, is there a trace that I can dig down to the third layer and jump it to that? Thank you for the video Mark, as always.
Mark Shaffer Thanks for replying. I can't find any info on this. I repaired a bottom left LSD that only had two lines broken (both for lcm) now the right side bottom of screen doesn't respond to touch and there are very thin grey lines running from top to bottom (not typical grey bars at top). Think it's related to that line? Left side touch works fine
Hi, i just saw your video and I think that's what happened with my phone. Do you have a shop in Ny ? Is there any way you can look at my phone? Thank you
Bianca Ionescu our main office is in honeoye falls, NY. I work from both Florida and ny, but mostly Florida. just use our website to request a quote - www.mendonipadrehab.com
Mark Shaffer we changed the battery and after 2 days it just turned off and it won't start. We change the battery back to the original one and put the screen back..and it turned back on.. after my husband put the screws back .. it didn't start anymore... any ideas? :)
Mark magnificent job. Love the vids. Maybe you could just set up a camera in class for certain jobs (like a 3rd person view) while you teach the March class?
Southern Micro Soldering Every once in a while we record during the course, but those videos go on the official iPad Rehab TH-cam channel. We also try to do an after hours live stream while I'm there, if we have anything interesting to work on. Keep an eye out.
your skills are epic, how do you keep your hands steady like that?

Ray yep, I've had to do that many times, in fact I did one today. I know I have at least 3 or 4 videos where I do a 3rd layer repair of this area.
Mark Shaffer thank you, Mark! I'll check them out
Sorry there is some diagram of those tracks I have a totally broken
Nice work. Can you send the link to buy this flux and this iron soldering.thanks
Rodrigo Bombaxini you can buy the flux from Louis Rossmann or on microsolderingsupply.com - the iron is available via hakkousa.com
Thanks friend, u are the master
Thx for your wonderful video mark. Can you tell me hoe many mm jumper you are using?
Ozman I believe it is .2mm
Thank you
Hey Mark, do you cover your jumpers with any board epoxy or that uv curable solder mask before you send back the phones/boards to your customers?
Ray of course!

.2mm is pure copper or insulated bro?
you r awesome man. brilliant skill, i have a same issue with my iphone 6 can i send it to u for repair?
Amritpal Singh sure, just request a quote on the website www.mendonipadrehab.com
Wish i have same skill as yours sir.
That is the great job
Hi Mark,
Would you be willing to repair an Iphone 6 plus that has suffered long screw damage?
Larue Szn sure
Hello sorry I see other broken tracks there or they do not matter
carlos zurita the others were not broken. before the repair I expose both ends and continuity test then repair only the broken lines.
Mark have you ever encountered touch issues after LSD repair in any of the screw holes? If so, would it be damage in the third layer causing it?
mrsemifixit 3rd layer bottom left hole in iPhone 6 has a touch trace

The phone is working but there is a black screen. It's possible a long screw in the wrong spot...? What else can it be ?
Thank you
Mark Shaffer how can I know what is the problem?
Bianca Ionescu it can be any fault in the video circuit. if it is an iPhone 6 or 6+ then long screw damage is a possibility.

just need to fix the contrast or the white balance of the image on the microscope, to see it better.
Great Content!
you have gotten one more sub 👍🏼

Amazing
Question
Cam connector is it Pin 11?
Or pin 31
Micro Fix I'm not sure. I've never found the need to trace the tracks to the connector, I just repair them.
Good answer lol
