she's probably one of the harder characters to pick up, its like becoming a good genji or a good tracer. Understanding Widow or Soldier is not very difficult especially if you're familiar with FPS already, but these assassin/flanker type heroes require a lot of thinking and positioning and getting value from the enemy's backline is way harder than getting it from your own team's position The level you play at also matters a lot. She's like Pharah in the row ranks in the sense that her strong counters aren't very good at low ranks, but as you climb people start to be able to punish you more and more as hitscan
i’ve used this video as help for some hours now, it really put an advantage in for me when you talked about putting pressure on them, because i would usually solo push, but i learned that surviving is an extremely important part of echo. thank you!
I think you forgot to mention one of the most important Echo's assassination tools - no footsteps sound. The only two other heroes who have this is Zen and Sigma - not exactly the assassin type heroes. Other than that, great video : )
She makes a wirr sound that is louder than you think. At first I thought she was almost silent as well since I don’t normally get enemy echos but when I do I can hear her easily
I've found if you do it right you can handle both pharah mercy easy as with echo. Her burst and hunt down burst potential, along with also kite spam is still good if you know your angles. The problem I had at the start was I was using echo to copy what I wanted and not what I needed. Something copying a healer, particularly mercy can just over balance things easily. I fucking love this hero and the fact that I am pretty sure we haven't even begun to scratch her potential.
Echo is a great example of how power crept champs in this game are. She completely trashes on old assassins like genji and tracer by having 10x better movement, ease of use and dps. With tracer you have to be really good at tracking, spaming crouch in right moments, know how to throw bombs, how and when to tp. With genji you have to master flanks, how to ghost dash, how to animation cancel ult etc, whereas with echo you fly up to a "squishy" (basically any champ that isn't tank), right click, shoot once or twice and beam him down, since the beam kill pretty much instantly if you're below 50% hp. Balanced YEP
I'm a pretty good Echo, but I am struggling to get good teammates to grind to a higher elo. How can I keep solo queuing and gaining rank without a proper team?
I mean this kid obviously has walls unless he’s taking callouts because there were multiple cases, especially at 3:47.. there’s no way he would have seen him and I doubt his team made that call out from their spawn considering none of his teammates were there… he’s still good, but I’m guessing walls tbh man open your eyes lol
I’ve heard a lot of people say that echo is just okay. With cass being as strong as he is, I would be scared playing echo against a very good hitscan. But the reality is that echo is one of the most if not the most, mobile hero in the game. Each of your point explains why and how echo can be played even in top 500. I don’t think people realize that she really does have a high skill cap in terms of how flexible a hero she is. Awesome video and explanations.
@@salt5999 She is the highest skill ceiling character TECHNICALLY, because she becomes literally every other character. Saying another character has a higher skill ceiling makes no sense when echo has to be able to play pretty much everyone, and also decide which abilities are the most optimal for the situation, therefore needing to understand all characters and their counterplays.

Echo has been considered one of the highest skill ceiling heroes for awhile now, as far any parts of the community I've been involved in, at least.
