    New technology with progressive springs hmmmm 🤔, I’m a moto mechanic by trade and they’ve had progressive springs since the 80’s 🙄 & since most of the technology in MTB suspension derived from motos it’s really surprising progressive springs aren’t more common place !

    Awesome info guys!! I’m currently running a on x2 on my evil calling but I’m definitely tempted to try coil since the bike is already pretty progressive as it is

      Although it's an expensive experiment, it's worth trying out. Once I went coil on my Megatower V1 and V2, I've never wanted to go back. It's all preference, but I don't think you'll be disappointed. Thanks for the positive feedback!

    Thoughts on how a coil shock would work with a 297 mega, from what I’ve seen it’s progression is 17%. Thinking of going with the new super deluxe coil due to its HBO

      Preston here... I've never ridden a Nukeproof nor do I think anyone around here right now has one, but I do have a buddy who just got one so I will ask him about how he feels about its progression next time I talk to him.
      I can't say for sure that it will or won't work, but the new Yeti 160 is also 17% progressive and Yeti says it is coil compatible. I remember seeing some special edition Nukeproof's with coils not too long ago, so I did some Googling and it looks like Nukeproof says both the Mega and Giga are progressive enough to support a coil, it just comes down to preference. Seeing as how you're already ahead of the thought process by looking for a shock with a hydraulic bottom out, I'd be willing to guess that you can run that new SDU coil without having to worry about damaging anything.
      I've been eyeing one of the new RS coils and am so very tempted to pull the trigger! If you do it, circle back around and let me know your thoughts!

    hi guys, can you please recommend coil shock for slash 2021?thanks

    • @jensonusabicycles
      @jensonusabicycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, can't really go wrong no matter what way you choose. The new Rockshox coils with HBO look great and I wouldn't mind trying one, but I'm also happy with the Fox DHX2 that is on my bike currently. PUSH makes quality products, Cane Creek has great stuff, as does Ohlins. There are too many companies out there making killer products so you really can't go wrong... You just need a 230x62.5 TRUNNION mounted shock and you're good to go... www.jensonusa.com/Rear-Shocks?is=true

    Best performance for a enduro specialized 2021 ? Coil or X2 air shock ?

    • @jensonusabicycles
      @jensonusabicycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what type of riding you're doing and what feel you want out of your bike. I'll probably always choose coil over air, but that's mostly because I like natural, technical trails but if I was more into flow and jumps, I'd go air.

    MX doesn't use air shocks....the end

    • @jensonusabicycles
      @jensonusabicycles  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Barcia won on an air shock two years ago and Dungey and Shorty ran one briefly as well. MTB's don't weigh as much as a moto, nor do they get worked as hard as a moto shock during any race since MTB races are way shorter and at lower speeds. Huge difference between MTB and moto...

    • @jensonusabicycles
      @jensonusabicycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty unlikely that your bike is regressive. What bike are you riding? I'd just do some googling to see if you can find a leverage ratio chart then go from there.

      I ride a 2022 Giant E Reign +2 (mullet). I live in Lake Tahoe ( ride the CES series) and ride a lot of rough chunky enduro/DH tracks and at the end of season trail/ enduro. I’ve not found the ratio of my bike but others say the maestro sus is linear but slightly progressive at the end. I don’t purposely do big jumps but but I do jumps as part of the terrain and want control, traction and a consistent feel when I’m pumping and going over big drops and navigating enduro tracks. I did not find your link to check my bike? Am I right to think a coil with progressive coil will be the right combo?

    • @jensonusabicycles
      @jensonusabicycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@powertapping Yeah, if it's very linear but ramps up at the end of its travel, I'd do a progressive spring at the very least.
