The Slayer was my Go-To character for farming platinum back when the maps could be hunkered down in. Have someone setting up tech or biotic chain reactions and just spam Biotic Slash while from beyond safety. Not to mention running around the original White Out map using his heavy Melee was pretty versatile.
I kinda miss the maps you could hunker down in. It made platinum a laugh. Even with defendable positions I always found it fun when 2 banshee's would jump into the middle of the position and just everyone had to run xD
Started watching your videos when I found your Salarian Engineer vid. Got hooked once I realized that you do a fantastic job of explaining your build choices and playstyle... and also because you have a MOST KICKIN accent. :) This video was very helpful for me. Vangaurds are my favorites, but I had felt that the Slayer was the worst of the N7s. This video showed me how to counteract the Phase Disruptor problem with the Barrier option on Charge. I think I'll be able to use him better now, thanks!
I just started this guy but I love him so much already. He just seems to click with my playstyle. I've always preferred to cover the side routes and occasionally run into the middle to get a few kills then be out in the blink of an eye. I can be effective at range and melee and still get my ass out of there through a wall if things get hairy.
i have just realized tonight while playing the phase disruptor is amazing if you use it in combination with a volus with max shield boost to keep your barriers full. i was kicking some major as on gold.
Best way to build it is- Max Biotic Charge like he did Forget Phase Disruptor Max Biotic Slash like he did (except I think I chose one of the recharge times) Max his passive fighting abilities as you wish (preferably with lighter weight and better power damage) Max Fitness, after the first 3 slots, put the next in melee damage, the next into either, and the last into Health and Shields Carry a pistol with a melee damage bonus and it's easy to solo Silver (Gold too if you have many consumables)
I just recently set up my PSN account, can't wait to get started on ME3's multiplayer. Thanks for all the tips on the builds, I have a feeling it'll be of big help later.
I've noticed that when doing melee combos and heavy melee the Slayer has the same animations as the Shadow except they have added teleports between each strike. The Shadow lunges forward just like the Slayer when performing a heavy melee but without the teleport. If you look closely you can see the Slayer cartwheel while dodging just like the Shadow and Drell.
Well when you phrase it like that I guess I can't argue. Still, they made some story-wise and cutscene changes depending on your class (Omega DLC - Engineer) so it would have been nice to have even a few different animations
Try following with the N7 Slayer: One weapon: N7 Eagle, no Phase disruptor but biotic slash against groups of enemies and retreat after each kill. Works pretty well.
Really love these guides! And you're finally done with the Earth DLC characters! Could you do guides on the Rebellion DLC ones? Like the Project Phoenix Adept, Vanguard and Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel.....
You can easily stop it. I destroy with him. As silly as it may sound, the only way to survive with this dude is to jump right into the fire. I carry a light shotgun with melee upgrades and equipment. Charge in, light melee combo since ur essentially invincible during that first melee combo, by then your recharge should be done and you can charge to next person to refill your barrier or just teleport to safety. Mechs/brutes are a walk in the park. PDx2 + charge, teleport away, repeat.
Lol. Exactly my thoughts. When I first got him I was excited. He looks badass. In my first game, I got downed by a cannible in the blink of an eye. I got revived. Then before I got 20 feet, BAM. Downed again. In short, I will never play him again, because 3-6 shots and he dies. Can't even stop it.
They activate it when their barrier gets low, and they activate invisibility when their health gets low, it's not like they activate it on notice of your move. And I just think overall that the trade-off of any other abilities is not good for Phase Disruptor. Phase Disruptor would be good for another character, like if they ever made a Vorcha Vanguard who wouldn't need much of his barrier anyways.
Good build but I find you can play the slayer way more offensively if you go for cooldown at rank 6 for biotic charge. In addition instead of using warp rounds incendiary rounds work better. Phase distributor/biotic charge sets off explosions that cause more damage. In addition the acolyte is a nice pair for this character, especially for banshees. Lastly this character is way better if you play as host. Phase distributor shoots way faster if you do.
You haven't mentioned that Slayer's light melee gives you VERY hight damage reduction. You can use it to tank a Prime alone on gold/plat.! Slayer is almost invulnerable while he's spamming light melee. But it works invariably only if you're hosting.
Hey Darc :) First of all, thank you for all these guides. I use them for all of my charakters and they're really awesome :) Are you going to upload a guide for the Vorcha Soldier and/or the Sentinel? I'm really looking forward to these two :D Keep up the good work :D
Seems the developers have really liked the Phase Disrupter ability. It seems it is now becoming a core biotic ability in ME: Andromeda under the name "Lance".
My style on most gamer is that of the infiltrator. I suck at playing vanguard and adept (except N7 Fury). Still I see a lot of people kicking ass with N7 Slayer.
I hope that we get the N7 classes in Andromeda. Would be awesome to play the campagne as a N7 Fury Adept, Slayer, Paladin or an Shadow Infiltrator^^ or at least something similiar with the same weapons and armor :3
I'd assume the Slayer plays like most Vanguards; suited for close, direct combat but squishy enough that you can't get too careless. ESPECIALLY on the higher difficulties. Quick tip to everyone; keep cooldowns as light as possible and don't charge into groups of enemies you can't handle.
I hate biotic slash, so I max everything else, speccing into melee and power damage in the passive. PD, charge, melee melee melee teleport back charge melee melee PD charge etc etc. It plays almost non stop and is heaps of fun.
I find that my barriers were constantly draining when I played with this character (first time). I was bloody useless without them. Is this a bug or something? I was between waves and my barriers drained to 0 over and over. I was not rolling or dodging either. PS thanks for these guides, they are really helpful for me. I don't have the time to dedicate to trying different combinations of powers and weapons these days.
I suck with Vanguard type characters, I charge and take out one enemy but get surrounded by 10 others than! the constant teleporting makes me loose my sense of space and positioning of me and my enemies lol. I cant stay alive playing this guy! so frustrating because its such a cool character with awesome powers but I guess I need more practice with this playstyle.
Can anybody tell me if Mass Effect 3 Servers are still full? I played it in and out about 2 years ago, and it was maybe the best multiplayer i've ever played and tbh i really miss it over nowadays Shotters. With Warframe there comes a similar game to the next gen consoles but it's still not the same as good old ME3 Multiplayer. I really fucking enjoyed it, and now i miss it. Especially my Level 20 N7-Slayer. So loved him...
In case you still haven't figured it out, Mass Effect 3 MP still has a nice player pool. If you have an Xbox, message MeowMeowGaming if you need a partner.
My favourite class is the N7 Slayer for multiplayer, I don't use Biotic Charge with it. I just max everything else with it, as he is such a cool character to play as.
Maybe u guys are not used to being a vanguard a vanguard is up front person so of course u gonna go down Ibut I didn't get the slayer yet so Idk how he is
amen this character hurts my soul with how fucking weak he is mixed with how badass he looks its like a slap in the face..i mean his abilities are awesome but they fk it up with giving him no health or shields and then to top it off they give him an ability that sacrifices his already horrible shield to use it as an attack
Not like it matters anyways most human characters are just way to fragile. But deal a lot of DPS. I think reviving a character that can take down mobs of enemies and chip away large chunks off the bigger enemies can be helpful. Tanky and bulky isn't always the answer.
Weak build. Phase disruptor is garbage. Put it all in biotic slash and biotic charge because that combined with the teleporting makes it possible to get out of even the worst situations on platinum.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again they need to bring the multiplayer to Legendary Edition
Still fun to play :)
A guide to the Slayer:
1. Get behind a wall
2. Spam Biotic Slash
3. Disruptor blast any enemies still standing
4. ???
5. PROFIT!
xD love it.
The Slayer was my Go-To character for farming platinum back when the maps could be hunkered down in. Still the best guides ever made for this game
agreed
Get the reserves pack, highest chance to get characters, i got my slayer on a veteran pack though...

thnx these are fun to watch.. It's a good way to occupy me while in a loading screen or want some talking in the background
i have just realized tonight while playing the phase disruptor is amazing if you use it in combination with a volus with max shield boost to keep your barriers full. i was kicking some major as on gold.

I still love the Krogan Battlemaster, mainly because of his power in close quarters through melee, this class looks very cool though.
Thanks for the video. I just unlocked this character this weekend.

I kinda like spamming biotic slash behind a wall :)
my favorite class so far really fun to play with thx for the build :D
Tried this on platinum a bunch tonight. Really fun.
Miss this game so much

Liked and subbed.

Yeah it's called Mass Effect 4 multi player
no n7 characters AHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I mean for single player you can build your character as closely to these n7 characters as possible
Anyone catch the guy getting Banshee impaled at 5:06?
I'd assume the Slayer plays like most Vanguards; suited for close, direct combat but squishy enough that you can't get too careless. ESPECIALLY on the higher difficulties. Quick tip to everyone; keep cooldowns as light as possible and don't charge into groups of enemies you can't handle.
I reallly want this class so much...its so frustrating getting the weapons and people your good with
hey darcblade, are you gonna do guides on any of the new multiplayer characters?
The dodge? I believe it's just N7 Slayer and N7 Fury, though there might be an asari that can do it, I can't quite remember.
Wired I found out from citadel dlc that slayers are based upon phantoms but to bad he doesn't have a safety bubble
My guess is that the default for class for Shepard is the Soldier. No fancy flips, or sparkly moves just straight up butt whooping!
love the commentary
I hate biotic slash, so I max everything else, speccing into melee and power damage in the passive. PD, charge, melee melee melee teleport back charge melee melee PD charge etc etc. It plays almost non stop and is heaps of fun.
For all their technology, an sword is still something to be feared! LOL!
Well in the game you get often into melee battles, so I would rather slash at them with a sword instead of hitting them with a gun^^
That's why I carry a shotgun so just in case I get into a situation where I need to melee.
You forgot to say you could actually possibly decapitate an enemy with the heavey melee
Fair point :). I think him and the Shadow are the only ones who can do it.
***** Only good thing is to prevent Abomination from exploding.
And to look cool!
+Darcblade15 Slayer, Shadow, Vorchas, Krogan grab

Some maps rain which drains shields and barriers
I wished they'd update Shepard so s/he plays more like the N7 classes. I mean, didn't s/he train at the same program they did?
I suck with Vanguard type characters, I charge and take out one enemy but get surrounded by 10 others than! the constant teleporting makes me loose my sense of space and positioning of me and my enemies lol. I cant stay alive playing this guy! so frustrating because its such a cool character with awesome powers but I guess I need more practice with this playstyle.
I think so but i played last year I'm currently redownloading it
except the shield the doesn't last long anyway.
And for me they don't activate the shield with the phase disruptor so your rebuttal is void to me lol
That's simply because he's already a sword master, shadow isn't.
Keep them up.
Except they can activate a bubble shield to block it.
I use your builds for credit farming, and Jumpin's (search it up) for messing around and having fun :)
I want this character so bad. But instead I get a Volus Adept in a regualar Spectre Pack...
What classes have teleport

Sounds about great, finally a reason to bring back the old lady
Whats your favorite Vanguard?
I think it's stupid that they didn't give the Slayer sword mastery
I still find his teleport-evasion too slow when under fire, specially when theres lag. But usefull teleporting throught walls.
It does give you i frames though
My favourite class is the N7 Slayer for multiplayer, I don't use Biotic Charge with it. I just max everything else with it, as he is such a cool character to play as.
Just a couple of tips.
1) Don't use this character. He is squishy as hell.
2)Reserve packs get you characters MUCH faster.
He already has
Melee build = reserved for harder play style.
you get barries evan if you dont do the skill
Maybe u guys are not used to being a vanguard a vanguard is up front person so of course u gonna go down Ibut I didn't get the slayer yet so Idk how he is
Me3 on pic is picking about up its another mass effect rush 😂
amen this character hurts my soul with how fucking weak he is mixed with how badass he looks its like a slap in the face..i mean his abilities are awesome but they fk it up with giving him no health or shields and then to top it off they give him an ability that sacrifices his already horrible shield to use it as an attack
yeah just go out and keep going down because you use powers over and over. I dont help that kind or people who dont do theatre objective
Not like it matters anyways most human characters are just way to fragile. But deal a lot of DPS. I think reviving a character that can take down mobs of enemies and chip away large chunks off the bigger enemies can be helpful. Tanky and bulky isn't always the answer.
Got this character with a paladin n7 pistol :p
except the krogan vanguard
Class guide
you're a little late on that comment
