I felt in love with that guitar reef, awesome feeling while listening. sexy vibe but the meaning has personal James's pain.
"Bleeding Me" is a song by American heavy metal band Metallica from their 1996 album Load.
Bleeding Me is one of the few Metallica songs that contains a Hammond organ.
James Hetfield explained what the song is about in a 2001 interview with Playboy:
"Around the time of Load, I felt I wanted to stop drinking. "Maybe I'm missing out on something. Everyone else seems so happy all the time. I want to get happy." I'd plan my life around a hangover: "The Misfits are playing in town Friday night, so Saturday is hangover day." I lost a lot of days in my life. Going to therapy for a year, I learned a lot about myself. There's a lot of things that scar you when you're growing up, you don't know why. The song Bleeding Me is about that: I was trying to bleed out all bad, get the evil out. While I was going through therapy, I discovered some ugly stuff in there. A dark spot."
"How did I know whether the rest of the guys in the band felt as much about the lyrics as I did? I could be singing 'Bleeding Me' with a tear in my eye and the rest of the guys might not have cared."

People hate this album but I love it. I like the old heavy stuff as well. It's just a different headspace. Good video.
Same! I got into Tallica because of Until it Sleeps, before that I wasn't even into rock. But I bought Load, then Reload and then went backwards through the albums. But Load and Reload are still my ground zero for Metallica.
This is old just seen this... But it's hard to follow the black album.. and they was going against nabster... Free internet music at the time. And that is what made a lot of people go again them... There music as always been awesome
I adored this album when it came out and got ridiculed 🤣 I gave and still give zero care. It is gorgeous
I didn't think a lot of fans hated Load. It's a very good album. Now Reload, that's a different story ......

I feel this is their most underrated song. Probably in my top 3 Metallica song.
This Outlaw Torn and Fixxxer from the load/reload albums are my fave. So glad James managed to push out a Fixxxer live this year before his voicebox was too old to do it! The high notes it has is crazy for his voice.
James has an amazing voice, Mama Said is one of my favorite tracks and it's more country music than metal. 🤘🏻
Don't see many reactions to Metallica's Load/Reload stuff. You're getting a like for doing just that. This just also happens to be one of my favorite songs from those albums. You should give the song "Fixxxer" a listen. It's equally as good as this one.

That's what I love about James's lyrics. They are stark and powerful. So you can feel them and personalize them to your own life and really feel them.

Great reaction. Metallica’s Load and Reload albums are really underrated in my opinion. You really must react to Alice In Chains. The singers voice is haunting and beautiful, the guitar work and bass are unique and dark. Please react to “love hate love” live at the Moore theatre, and “rooster” the music video.

James might not be the best singer, but he's unique and his song writing is my personal favourite of all time. I love his voice, best band ever. Also he tells a story in the mood of his voice. He's a legend and the riff master 🤘

@IYOU once i peel away the superficial stuff and i listen to your reactions i realize the level of empathy, insight and fierce intelligence there is on the level at which you exist and that is what makes your reactions so good.
You like James Hetfield's voice because, when he really hits his notes, he has soul and authenticity. You don't necessarily find that much in hard rock or metal, but James definitely has it when he's "on".
Also, the theme of this song is similar to their song "Unforgiven" where someone's life is being controlled by others and what allowing that does to restrict one's life.

I love that you love this song and this Metallica, I like their old stuff a lot but I always thought it sucked that not many people could appreciate their newer stuff it’s not fast but the music has a lot of emotion that you can just sometimes get lost in it. 🤘🏽

A lot of people don't know this, so they may not understand the idea behind this song, but the term bleeding me comes from an old medical practice called Leeching. Where leeches were used to drain blood from a specific region of the body to promote improved blood flow and a renewal or rejuvenation to your blood vessels. So the song describes his attempt to improve himself by bleeding out the demons and problems in his life. The second verse also is derived from a man named Lord Byron in The early 1800s. Just shows how much Hetfield educates himself on such a wide variety of things.

I YOU, I watch hours and hours of reaction videos. I just found yours. I have to say, you outshine the others by far because you are so genuine and authentic. Watching you is like.. is like.. watching a child open Christmas presents. You can tell that the music opens your soul and it's truly a beautiful thing to watch. Yes, you're beautiful on the outside but you're even more beautiful on the inside and your outgoing nature is something to behold, to say the least. By the way, Metallica changed my life. They made me who I am today in a big way. They have reinvented themselves for almost 40 years! Not many band have done that.

I can't understand what you're saying, but no problem, I'll make an effort, bc you gave this song the time. Load was the first Metallica album I bought in 1997....at age 36 this song still raises the hair on my arms brings an immense LoaD of emotions to the surface. I had a similar childhood as James and feel as if his lyrics were written in my journal. Whenever life feels like its just too much, I strap, in volume maxed out, and melt into a co-op mind with James and let all the anxiety and woe exit through the pores in my ears. His voice makes me feel ok, it feels like home, a comfortable place led by an alpha male with good intentions. Thanks IYOU, let's get married and drift into our forgotten dreams to James Hetfield ballads. I'm a better looking version of James Hetfield, and much younger
