Hi Ciara and thank you for this reset. It is very interesting to see your reflection, the stuff you struggle with and the stuff where you note progress. Especially your comment on your procrastination was interesting to me; you are an inspiring person and that you are struggling with that makes your achievements even greater. You mentioned that you do not have a lot of wiggle room outside of your defined schedule. Could you please make a video at some point how you usually navigate unforseen events or changes that you have to make to your normal day-to-day? It usually takes me a moment to move on if something does not go as planned and it is often killing my productivity.
Thanks Fred! I'm never sure with these videos how much to share so I'm glad that the reflection resonated with you. RE the wiggle room debacle. It's something I'm finding challenging at the moment and still haven't worked out completely. I would say the best thing to do is have 1-2 hours of "buffer" time in your schedule each day to allow for those unexpected interruptions, and I typically do have those in my schedule in the form of admin hours.
Ahhh so awesome to see another video from you! Thank you for sharing your highlights and lowlights, it’s really interesting to see how other PhD students are doing around this time of year ☺️ I’m glad you took a few days off to enjoy time with your family and partner.. I also just took a trip to Vegas and LA recently! And absolutely love love love that you mentioned Taylor Swifts midnights album 😍 Let’s finish off this year strong 💪🏼
Ah thank you Alexus! I'm glad you liked the reflection. Also I hope you had a good trip to Vegas and LA, was it your first time? T Swiz keeping me alive in the bad weather we're getting at home now. Yes, we got this! 💪
@@PhDandProductivity Thank you!! It was a great time, even though it was not the first time. I'm actually from LA :) but anytime that I get to take a weekend or time off from my PhD feels like a nice reset! Sorry to hear about the bad weather, but T Swiz coming in clutch haha. Best of luck this winter!!
Hi Ciara! thanks for sharing! I was looking for inspiration on how to reset this season 'cause I feel that everything was falling off track recently but as you said we must do our best to close strong this year 💪💪
I definitely feel that way from time to time too! It's important to connect with what's been going on to make you feel that way and not to be hard on yourself about it
hi ciara..is the final year mean the third or fourth year of PhD program?..i'm just wondering to understand the PhD program in different countries.. thanks for your amazing video 🙏🥰

I'm based in Europe, in Ireland in particular so for me it's 4th year. Usually here it is between 3-4 years. In US typically at least 6 years.
