Pro tip.. watching in 2× speed slashes the learning time of splicing in 90 seconds. that's why i have time to share this with others. great video, thankyou
Clear & concise instructions. Very helpful that the video was shot from the over-the-shoulder perspective - just much clearer and easier to follow. My strands ended three different lengths so I just continued to tuck to bury and ended with a nice taper. 👍
It's as simple as this, yet it's the first set of tucks that I never get right the first time... Once I've got those first ones the rest are as easy as they look... I've watched the other video but this one being so short should help as it doesn't waffle on and there aren't that many flips of the rope or cuts in the flow...
Ok for a professional, it’s bloody impossible to someone that never done it , tried for 2 hours can’t get by first set of tickets ends are not same length and one strand always faces backwards with 2 forward give up throw in the bin rely on knots in future may be 3 mins for you but not none else .
The jump cuts do NOTHING to help illustrate the steps. Would be far easier to understand without them. Fluid sequences with no edits so you can see what motions are taking place.
May be 3 min simple for you a pro, but believe me it's bloody impossible can't get first tucks right ,first 2 centre and left but then 3rd always wrong ive give up ill tie a knot loop they are easy .and downhill from there T it for 2 hours solid and still wrong, so please don't tell people that's the general public its easy as it's not.
If anything might help out new people to it is to show the direction that the third tuck of the three has to travel in. This is where most mistakes happen. It’s still the best video I’ve seen so far but this one tuck is still the detour from perfect that throws people off

Quick, simple, perfection. Thank you for posting!

I’ve always wondered how to do this. Thank you so much!
Best video for rope splicing
No matter how many times I try I literally cannot comprehend it

I’m takin ma AB class & I need this 🍻
Very helpful
Always wondered how to do this
Nice clean instructions, but the background music drives me crazy!
Sorry to hear that! I’ll keep that in mind for editing!
Looking for a good way to learn how to splice? This is it.
Superb ❤️❤️
I tried other long drawn out explanations and didn't get it. Got yours in ...3 minutes.
Thanks for that
Our pleasure!
Thanks mate
The third strand appears to go under the same tuck as a prior one but in the opposite direction
Usefull 🙏🙏
What's the name of that music?
❤
I’m still not getting it..
Getting what?
What's the best way to finish/secure the ends of your poly rope? Do you melt it to the other tucks?
Melting the ends is good, just not to the other part of the rope. Be sure not to apply heat to the standing part of the rope that is bearing the load.
Thanks!
@@tyleroxford9722heat shrink tubing or electrical tape 👍

You going to come back every year with the same story?
Do you give up on everything else in your life you can't master in 2 hours?

That music is bad.
Thanks tony
That's subjective.. I actually don't mind it.. thankyou for your opinion though
Music was awesome in a Knight Rider kind of way...
I think “terrible” is the word you’re looking for. 😉
Turn off the sound and use closed caption if it bothers you that much.
Instruction unclear built a boat
Bad video why does it keep cut scene i cant figure out whats going on
Don't 1st bit good enough 4 me

It is definitely difficult to get the first set of tucks right, especially the third strand. Glad you gave it a try.

The background music is really annoying
The camera cuts ruin an otherwise good video, you shouldn't do so many zoom cuts so quickly
Wrong
