People's beloved pets are getting stolen, as well as Swans, Ducks etc from Parks and Rivers, not just in the US, but definitely in most western countries!. The people who do this are generally from Countries where they have No Empathy for animals of any kind, and these pets, wild animals suffer an agonising death. When I was living in Southgate in north London a few years back I used to walk through a park that had a small pond on my way to/from work. There were signs there aimed at “non residents” that basically spelled out how we like the ducks, geese and other wildlife here in the park, and that they’re not food. People know what’s going on, the council had put up signs so people at the council were aware of the situation…it is happening.

When I enquired why, I was told “Eastern Europeans had been capturing the swans and ducks to eat them and the fence had been put up to protect them”. This was not a silly rumour it was a fact.

Wildfowl have declined due to immigrants killing and eating them. 10 plus years ago there was an episode on an rspcb type programme where they highlighted this problem. A call was made to them of Eastern euros killing and capturing swans , and geese in parks. The rspcb checked out a property that was reported to them to do with wildfowl and found bin bags full of wildfowl bones and them actually eating a swan.

One. There is /one/ report I've found from reliable reporting of an immigrant eating a swan In 2023. In New York. And the immigrant was from Myanmar. I've found lots of rumors and easily-disproven stories in the attempt, but that is the one and only incident I've been able to find in which there was an actual arrest.

A few weeks ago two of them ask me if it was ok to shoot a swan for food, I do understand that where we see wildlife they see a meal. I live next to a river and close to a country park, the wildlife has all but disappeared from what was here two years ago.
