- Hurricane Beryl ripped off roofs in Jamaica, jumbled fishing boats in Barbados and damaged or destroyed 95% of homes on a pair of islands in St. Vincent and the Grenadines before rumbling past the Cayman Islands early Thursday and taking aim at Mexico's Caribbean coast after leaving at least seven people dead in its wake.
Hurricane Beryl passed us in Grand Cayman at 5:30am this Thursday morning, about 60 miles south of us, as a Cat 3. We did not lose power or water, not much damage, thankfully. The sea on Seven Mile Beach looked like glass. It was so smooth, but no, she passed us at 10:30am. The waves were starting to build, and a bit of rain. Thinking of the others who were deeply affected. Also, us locals call it CAYmaaaannnn, not CayMENS.
I love Jamaica 🇯🇲 God is whit them
Prayers for my Motherland of Jamaica!
Now its comig our way 🫤
God will protect your country just like he did in Jamaica....
