  • Dr. Greg Gillespie, game designer and professor at Brock University in Ontario agreed to join me on Grail Country to talk about his exciting new RPG Dragonslayer.
You can back his new game here:
    www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
You can purchase his previously published RPG products here:
    www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/p...
I am personally a fan of Greg's work and I hope many of you will go out and support it by backing his Kickstarter and buying his previously published work.
Look for me to be participating in a livestream of Greg's adventure Dwarrowdeep in collaboration with @GrimGriz @PaulVanderKlay and @RichardRohlin some time in the hopefully not too distant future.

Thanks for having Greg Gillespie on your show! His products are of such excellent quality. I backed DragonSlayer and can’t wait.

I started playing dungeons & dragons in the late eighties with second edition. I remember a lot of my friends and their older brothers having first edition stuff and I really feel like dragon Slayer has that same magic to it. I have played all variations of the game and all editions but this is the first time in a long time that I felt like it was back to those good times but yet we are still new and moving forward. It seems that the crown has been passed at the most fortuitous time. Gillespie's starting to form into the new crown bearer of Gygax

Excellent talk, definitely find myself in the lacking vision category pretty often when it comes to creative works. I've found that massive amounts of condensed pre-prep for things like megadungeons and hexcrawls instead of spontaneous pre-session design work is a lot more compatible with an adult schedule as opposed to the kind of time I had on my hands as a younger gamer for sure.

A very interesting and gentlemanly talk, so thank you for that. I have enjoyed Dr. Gillespie's works for some time now (have all his megadungeons and the monster manual he published) and it was in large part his artstyle and layout that drew me in. A consistently clear and pleasing presentation accentuated by stunning illustrations. So when he announced his own take on an OSR rulesystem it was literally a no-brainer for me to back it on KS. And the same will apply when he ever gets around to put his world setting into writing. O how I long for a classic boxed set presentation of that... ;)

I feel like I’m watching the cast members from Stranger Things as grownups! ❤️ I love that you are doing these conversations Nate. I have no idea what the games are about so I’m learning! And I love to learn!

I must say I'm surprised to see Dr Greg Gillespie on Grail Country, a theological podcast, when I'm use to seeing him on Diversity & Dragons.

I am full of surprises. A follow up conversation may actually touch on theology a bit more. But I wanted the focus to be on his work this first time.
