  • The Emory Village was home to some great bands in the 1980s - one of my favorites, 54th Mile incorporated 1960s influences like the Byrds, Family and Love along with the best of the Paisley Underground (The Three O'Clock, etc.) for a sound that was current and timeless. Jeremy, Charles and Greg let me join them on stage for a few songs at the end of their set, playing my tear drop 12-string! Then they added a real second guitarist and vocalist, Gerard McHugh, expanding their sound lyrically, instrumentally and vocally. The band wasn't around for a very long time but they played all the hip clubs and left us with this excellent demo, produced by Ron Bonds.
When looking for a picture to accompany this demo, I learned that the band is back together and playing shows! They have a new record as well - find out more here: / 781885632518355
