I grew up skating in the westside of LA this video is a major stoke to me being hyped on how i spent my time most def video reminds me of skating with jeff hartsel in Venice ,or my modeling shoot in venice when i board slide the huge venice hubba on an alva 9.25 with santa cruz wheels riser pads like the boards in this video board sliding the WLA world savings rail on smaller boards I don't consider technical i consider that evolution of skateboarding will say the old boards lasted longer for skating vertical spots i agree with everyone who skates fast with surf style guys like dennis busenitz.....aloha to what TONY ALVA does for skateboarding...TOM ROONEY
Yeah such a good sound track , My style was a mix of all skaters in this video.......PLUS SURFING WITH ENOUGH STYLE TO RUN A SPEED LINE FROM TOP OF SECOND POINT MALIBU TO THE SANDDDDDDD...AFTER WATCHING SARLO DO IT FIRST,,,DAMM THAT WAS WORSE,,,,WHO?
Jesus CHRIST!!! In 13 years Tony Alva couldn't learn ONE new trick!!!! No handplants or inverts just a bunch frontside squeakers. Those early grabs were the weakest things Ive ever seen. He hated Mike Vallely because Vallely was progression and this guy didn't want none of that
I grew up in that era and I never was and I’m still not a TA fan. He’s still full of himself. Their boards were crap and they were a joke. Hokus Pokus came out around the same time as this making this look like a joke.
@GeFarr That's awesome you skated for him man! I do see that he was good skateboarder in his era. He had ALOT of amazing skaters on his team but that ego can be a double edged sword. Tony Hawk is a perfect example of how to run a team. Ed Templeton too. Those two never got screwed up on drugs and never got delusional. Just good progressive skateboarding. Steve Rocco was a business man that had his finger on the pulse modern skateboarding. Right place and right time.
