Just like the rest of the Addams family, Wednesday Addams is creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky. After Jenna Ortega’s performance on Netflix’s Wednesday, I’d say her creepiness, kookiness and spookiness are on lock. Well, at least I’ve got 107 Facts here about Wednesday to help out with the whole “mysterious” part. Don’t tell Wednesday, but it’s time for Cinematica to dust away the cobwebs and shine some light on the skeletons lurking in the Addams Family closet…and hopefully those skeletons will subscribe to Cinematica. Jenna Ortega is what truly made the show as great as it was. I love that she was looking out for the integrity of the character and advocating for the original message of the Addams family, because who knows where the writers would have gone without her input.
When I watched the series for the the first time, I thought the uniforms of the school gave homage to the classic suits that Gomez used to wear on the TV show but nobody seems to mention it. Maybe I am mistaken

Another subtle callback in one episodes Wednesday says "I eat girl scouts for breakfast" is almost certainly a reference to a line in one of the 90s films (can't recall off hand which one) where Wednesday asks is girl scout cookies are made from real girl scouts.
Ortega is destined to be a huge star after this.

Just loved the updated script that featured Wednesday Addams, yet paid homage to the original series we all loved. The snarky comments from Wednesday played by the delicious Jenna Ortega, especially those between her and Enid, were hilarious and comedic genius from the writers. Excited for a second series...🙌🙌💪🖤🐬

I did see Jenna Ortega blink maybe a couple of times, but the action was barely noticeable, and did not take away from the scenes.

When Gomez stabs the guy with sword and he falls to his death it kinda reminded me of when Edward Scissorhands killed the bully at the end of his movie. Also the obvious is that Wednesday wears black and white stripes like Beetlejuice.

When I first heard that Wednesday took her name from the poem Monday's Child, I took it as an opportunity to look up what day of the week I was born. As it turns out, I happen to be a Wednesday's child myself, which is kind of fitting as I also had a soft spot for spooky things from an early age.

1:58 actually that last one is a little incorrect. Universal was only the distributor for international markets while here in the US the distribution was handled by United Artist Releasing which is a subsidiary that is 50% owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The reason for that is because they own the original 1964 series. While yes Universal was involved the two recent Addams Family animated movies were more MGM.
Infact even Wednesday even though the creators do have the rights, they still had to make this with MGM Television because of distribution.
There are a few Addams Family properties that are exceptions to this. However they (MGM) technically did have a bit of a hand (pun intended) in making one of them. That project being the 1991 Addams Family movie. MGM's subsidiary Orion Pictures was on the verge of going bankrupt and feared Addams was going to be another flop with one of the reasons they fear being a flop was it going over budget due to rewrites. During the production they secretly sold the film to Paramount Pictures.

Wait, if they acquire the rights from Illumination studios, there is a possible loop hole, it doesn't matter that Bezos now own MGM, if the producers acquire the rights from another company, that is own by Universal Studios, Bezos could demand money from them, but going for a legal battle would take years for him and a lot of money.
Somehow, I don't think money is an issue for Bezos.
