Thanks for posting this; my bed extender only came with instructions in French and Spanish, neither of which I can read with any proficiency. I could sort of make out what was going on in the pictures but having tips along with assembly really helps.
Subscribed, I enjoy the video's alot. It gives me ideas and inspiration so thank you for that! Also like Florida can''t wait to go back to Florida on vacation, greetings from the Netherlands!
I'm liking your Raptor videos but my god that bed extender is just to much work for what it is. When I ordered my 2018 Raptor I got it with the installed plastic extender which splits in two and folds to the sides so you can have total access to the bed when needed. I guess the gen 3 Raptor doesn't have that option.
I believe it does and the reason I did not go with that style is because people have had an experience of it cracking. This was a pain in the butt to put together but it is pretty bulletproof and it helps keep stuff from sliding forward.
Need to emphasize - Don’t forget to install the 4 plastic spacers between the mount brackets and bed pillars. I watched your video and failed to see you use them and you didn’t mention them so I was stupid and was wondering what the extra parts were when I was finished. Ended up warping the pillars beneath the brackets although you can’t tell with the brackets covering the damage. Just bothers me because I know the damage is there. My fault
Yeah, I saw you install them when I slowed down the video. The instruction sheet shows them in the illustrations, but fails to instruct their use in the verbiage. Great video though…thanks.
On the amp research version there are holes in the aluminum that allow plastic inserts to go all the way through to keep the sections together. For this one, the rivets keep the sections together.

I’m glad it helped! Thanks for the comment!
I had one of these on my 2004 Lariat. I felt it was more in the way than I found it useful.
Thanks for the comment!

Awesome! Thank you!
I bought this too. Really pisses me off that I had to go buy a rivet gun and drill holes. Other bed extenders are snap and go
Lol. I felt the same. It’s a dealer installed option, that’s why. But it’s worth it. I beat the crap out of it and it’s just as solid as new.
Thanks for the video. Would you happen to remember the size of the drill bit you used when drilled your holes. Thanks.
1/8”
Thanks!

Thank you I did install those. I was wondering their purpose. Thought it was for alignment. Thanks for the comment.

What is the purpose of the rivets
