One of our favourite national parks. It's quite remote but worth the drive.

Great video, magic place. Also had to do the trip to upington, collected my son from the airport, drove that road back at night, wow, the stars were amazing!

I’m praying for the borders to be opened in their next month. I have 10 days booked in the Botswana side of the park. All of the campsites are unfenced and one needs to be totally self sufficient ( no water or ablutions ). I’m looking forward to lions in the camp and total isolation
We would have loved to have seen the Botswana side too, and that was the plan. Hope your travel plans work out. You may have to get there via other border posts instead of through the park though.

@@TravelGigolo The plan is to cross at McCarthys and more on to the park. I had to cancel Twee Riveren as there is nowhere in the park to take a COVID test. I’m. It sure how to get back to SA but I have a week to find my way to De Hoop in the Richtersveld.
Cool, I suppose you'll have to use some of that 5 days to get a Covid test to get back into SA. We drove past De Hoop on our way to Richtersberg. Looks awesome 👌🏾
I enjoy your videos very much. You should do more of them if possible. Keep up the good work. Just one question...did you shoot the video using your sx70hs? What about the night video? Thanks...a fan.
Used an SX50HS actually and an M50. SX for the close-ups.
For the night clips, in case you want to try it, you can adjust the exposure in movie mode. So if you're filming at night I suggest try video mode.

You tease with the comment about dry climates and clear skies! What does the night sky look like? Perhaps a 2 minute video?
The night sky is amazing. Beautiful stars. We didn't film it though, so unfortunately no night sky footage.
