This expansion felt like it was the end of the game! I remember hearing Hydaelyn's voice a decade ago during the benchmark video in the ship with young Minfillia, "Hear... Feel... Think..." Now they are both gone... They closed such a huge chapter that now I feel lost. Scions have dissolved, Ascians are no more, Garlean empire bloodline is finished. I didn't mean to completely beat and finish the game like this🤯
Yeah Endwalker feels like a nice stopping point for anyone who wanted to leave the game on a definitive ending. But now we have e room for new characters and stories in a new saga which is really exciting.
Yeah, its been 10 years Hydelyn with us, since i started this game. This expansion and the music OST is a perfect way to put a closure to the saga. Stand tall friend, your adventure never ends :)
WOW that was fast! Such a great summary. Just the right amount of information, and making it clear who and what you're talking about even though faces and names change around. I love that the MOMENT Emet-Selch is brought out of the aetherial sea, he has to express how PISSED he is that Venat knew exactly what was going on the whole time. And then he goes back out of pure spite because he doesn't want to be alive again if it's by Hydaelyn's magic. Flawless characterization right there. And my favorite lore tidbit is that in a sidequest, it's revealed Fourchenault hates carrots. So in the end the exodus would have been torture for him, lmao.

Great recap, I really liked how SQ manage to fit a final boss at the last 2 chapters of the game. All this time we thought that Zodiark was the ultimate badass boss and when we killed at almost the beginning I was like “surprise me now Yoshida-san”.
Love the explanation! I am the kind of player who hits ESC and skips ASAP so I can play. I get tired reading so much. You exposition has caught me up so many times to where I actually care about what my next MSQ mission is. Thank you

I've been trying to work through the Endwalker MSQ for at least 18 months, I struggle with the pacing. I gave up when I got to the ship with the ship being prepared for the possible exodus. I watched this to see the story beats and now I see it it worth playing through. I like your voice and delivery a lot. Good job, thanks so much, you got my sub!
The Creators of FFXIV explained that the story will continue moving forward in later updates. So I want smaller more self-contained storylines like with Heavensward in these future updates to come. Maybe adventures centering around the struggles of the kingdoms now free from Garlean occupation, or what life is like in the other reflections of Hydaelyn.
I wish more people would make such summaries where they would just go ever step the main hero takes. Thanks a lot, that was great and useful to watch! Only wish you would include the dialogues between Julius, Zenos and Alisaie when we arrive to Garlemald because that actually hit Zenos close to home and he figured out what to do to get the duel he craved for!

Loving these recaps. I just recently finally finished msq and I ADORE Elpis. Thought it was interesting the names were after Greek Gods. And elpis kinda looks like a ... paradise of some sort. There's so many metaphors. It's SO GOOD
Great summary. I hate to admit it but I just really couldn't get into Endwalker's storyline. Compared to Shadowbringers, I just didn't feel nearly as invested in the characters so I ended up (gasp!) skipping a lot of cutscenes and storyline. I understood kind of the basic premise but your summary filled in all the details that I just couldn't be bothered within when I was playing through the MSQ. I know I'll never be the kind of person that's really into MMORPG stories so stuff like this helps a lot. Again, thank you.

It'd be interesting for further expansions to cover all the reflections and life in them...i mean out of 14 total, we've only seen 3??(The source, the first and the 13th?) so that leaves a lot of potential content, or the direct next expansion could just be a relaxing one, showing life rebuilding on our world, maybe seeing the garlean empire being rebuilt but into a more peaceful empire and less tyrannic,...game has nothing but potential
Hey Skipx, great video as usual! I know you are planning on the raids/alliance videos but would also be really cool to get job quests and some of the side content. Some of them tie into the MSQ really well and a lot of people skip side content and don't realize what they are missing out on. For example the dragoon quest line foreshadows and gives tons of details leading into the dragonsong war etc. Basically if anything connects or adds to the MSQ would be really nice to have it included as a priority. Looking forward to your new videos.
I'm a litttle embarrassed to admit i skipped a lot pf cutscene because I dont have the extra time to sit and watch it all, and I dont want my mom to see me playing so I have to skip a lot to be able to progress fast. Interesting . Why would Hydaelen use forbidden magic to possess Kryle and delay Zodiark’s end, when in fact, she knew the end of Zodiark happened and is inevitable ?
I would assume Hydaelyn's logic is that the Endsinger would focus on consuming the planet with billions of people. Rather than chase the moon ship which would have a few hundred thousand people. Giving humanity couple extra hundred or thousand years before she found them again.
i appreciate this so much. i still havent finished EW because the story is so long and draining and there is so much useless fluff. i plan on skipping it all and just watching this video to understand whats going on. thank you!

This helped so much! Some of the dialogue scenes aren't really clear, or were too boring so I skipped. Unfortunately I missed some key moments, which this video helped me fill in the gaps a lot.
Genuinely so pissed off by Zenos' role in the story- if he weren't in the story, I doubt much would be lost except for the deus ex machina needed to defeat the Endsinger
Zenos' likability heavily depends what you like in stories. Zenos in Endwalker is parallel for the player character. Showing us what our character could've become if they only cared about they want and avoided responsibility. On top of bringing up some philosophical questions. But he doesn't really push the plot forward so can understand why you're upset.
I'm glad the video helped you. I hope you find the time to play the story yourself because my video cuts out a lot of character development and great moments.
