What happens when you hit a pothole? | Driving.ca

Potholes come in many shapes and sizes, and hitting the wrong one the wrong way can cause catastrophic damage to your car or truck. As an added bonus, current global supply chain issues may wreak havoc with tire and parts availability, adding further frustration to the mix.
Here, lets cover some pothole basics including the types of damage they cause, the consequences of not taking that damage seriously, and some common terms and part names that’ll come in handy if you’re headed to the shop after losing a battle with a tooth-rattling pavement chasm.

I struck a pothole in a rainstorm my air bag went off my tire and rim destroyed. My suspension was severely damaged. I had the vehicle towed to a local body shop and they handled everything. I also took pictures of the pothole before they repaired it. My comprehensive insurance covered a $4,000.00 repair.

Delaware Roads are in disrepair after Cummins Allison keeps selling fake preventative maintenance to Delaware casinos causing the State to get a smaller percentage of the take so to speak which could be used on road repair.

I hit a pot hole on Garson Coniston road. It was deep enough bend the rim back a inch. Had 2 flat tires. Bob’s towing were quick to give me a tow. Filed a claim on city web site. Has to be done in 10 days. Lost 1.5 days of revenue and $3,000 of damages. We were 4 cars on the side of the road.

I hit a pothole 2 weeks ago, tyre was flat and steering was off. The tyre shop fixed it and did the tracking, but the car is still pulling to the right and the steering wheel is not centered. Got tracking done again, but it is still steering to the right when I let go off the steering wheel. I am at a loss now as nobody knows what's wrong...

Sometimes aligning the axel is hard and not always perfect to the poin where u jus let the car drive and it still might slightly goin to the right or left depending which side of the axels took the hit

@@yooitssaul9094 Thank you so much for your reply. I took the car to the main dealer. They re-calibrated the steering. It is not pulling to the right anymore, but the steering wheel is still slightly off-centered. I will have to get it aligned again. Thank you for your help
