- Grandmaster Eric Hansen attempts to beat Andrea Botez with only 18 seconds on his clock. Can he win when she has an entire minute on her clock? Is that even enough time to checkmate?

Sara MBTI: u wot

Yo Eric, great stuff as usual, love your vids. I am also a techno producer and i'm just curious what techno radios/playlists do you listen? The music seems fresh and there's always a track or two that i havent heard before. I'd be really grateful if you could help me out here. Keep up the good work!
@@SaraMBTI Nobody cares, go somewhere else with your stupid tests
Pro tip: watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies lately.
He could never win against me in this mode because I am playing so unreasonable that he could never anticipate my next move.
Edit: I don't know how this turned into a discussion about poker.
Lol, this is actually a legitimate reason why some professional Poker players find it more difficult to play against beginners than fellow professionals!
@@rocketduck44 That's not even a little bit true. It is 100% easier to play poker against beginners than experienced players. all beginners have glaring flaws in their strategy that a pro player will instantly identify. If they call too much for example, the pro will exploit them by betting really large with good hands and rarely bluffing. If they're too timid, the pro will bully them out of lots of pots, etc. On top of that, beginners often wear their emotions on their face and it's very easy to tell when they have a strong hand.
Charles Fromm he means people who don’t even know what their hand means, personally I play a lot of Texas hold ‘em and I have a much easier time playing against people who have an idea of what they’re doing versus a bunch of friends that though pocket aces didn’t mean anything
@@thesailor4511 I know what he means. In that case, since they don't know what is going on, you shouldn't rely on reads. You can just play a balanced strategy and you will make lots of money off of their errors without even trying to.

What a beast comment lol
michael cera in your profile pic had me loling
Man these comments 😂😭
At one point, the sisters wanted 10 secs to come on top of him, but it’s too much for Eric

I see the Botez gambit runs in the family.
Lol it called the Botez gambit after all(family name)
The funniest thing is that Andrea made 5 Botez gambits and only one was accepted 2:25 5:30 10:53 15:58 16:27
I think those last 2 weren't botez gambits, it's just premoves make them look like botez gambits
@@italixgaming915 Nope,3 of these was premoved so the queen wasn't hanging.Only at 10:53 did Eric miss it.
Benedek István he missed one at 5:30 too
Adopting two sisters is a noble feat Eric.

It takes me 18 seconds to figure out where my knight can move. It takes Eric less to checkmate a skilled opponent. Yikes.
Congratulations on the match! Also, Andrea is training for the rematch. Beware.
Andrea is getting really stronger in short time how is that?
Andrea is a poor player and trash talker. She is better in negotiations than chess 😂

Watching the process of Eric downloading Andrea’s playstyle is fascinating
Would be interesting to witness this from her perspective... Any move she makes is instantly hit with a strong response. Not easy even with a minute advantage.
Chandir it’s like playing against a Hard level Chess AI
Maybe I'll upload it from Andrea's perspective
"i cant win with 15 seconds" shout out to anyone who remembers Eric winning 10 seconds vs 1 minute on lichess arena against stronger oponents
ikr he's slow he needs lichess haha
Lichess's timecontrol ist a bit different than the one that chess.com has.
On lichess u don't loose time if u premove on chess.com u loose at least 0.1 sec
@@danielkabakov evin more if get bad connetion for a waile
were they masters or just higher rated than andrea's chess.com account on lichess? lichess ratings are extremely inflated below the master level and they also allow players to move instantly, im pretty sure
can you give me a link to that video? I saw it a long time ago, wanna see it again
This is the one time its good to be fast when playing with a girl.
good one
Lol
It was funny how you fought for your extra seconds to make up the rules. You really needed that 18 sec. :D
I think I need to upgrade the CPU in my brain by at least 3 gernerations.
I have no idea what I just saw - but somehow Eric won.
This blew my mind good lord
was machstn du hier? :)
GM hansen getting hustled hard at the beginning there
MacrophyllaParasol nah he was just pretending to be hustled to get his 40 subs XD
@@noobmasteryoyo5136 He's playing 3d chess with them lol
No, he struggles the first 3 games. But he continues to build up steam the more he got used to the setup
Psychology bro, he is a down to earth guy
This looks nuts. The moves are extremely quick
5:24 me at every party
Just watching this stressed me out 😂
Holy moly! Eric "premove" Hansen
Eric: Has 15 seconds left
Also Eric: Trades queens
So?
buk the queen has the most attacking options of all the pieces, so trading queens is usually an indication of wanting to go into an endgame, which is difficult to do with 15 sec
Simplifying
@@pokemonrampagemake If you end up queening a pawn from it queen trades sound pretty good
Ice and Fire Yea, there are times where it is good, but for weaker players such as myself a quick mate without a queen is difficult
I can't believe Eric had the heart to adopt another person. In this economy no less. Cheers!

Eric actually every game: I have to play faster!!
your MARTIN K4RMA videos always have clout
dude makes THE BEST focus music & I can't thank y'all enough for introducing me to his work
Actually it's 18.3 seconds on the clock... Way easier 😕

Match start Carlsen mate in 12 moves
Very entertaining, thanks! I'm impressed on how well Eric knows how much seconds he needs to keep a competitive advantage. Keep it up Botezes!!
The rampage he goes in 12:45 to 13:13 is fascinating.
"I dont know what TikTok is"
Ladies and gentlemen we have found a saint.
The precision, speed, calculation all these with consistency under the time pressure is Incredible. Eric you're the BEST!!

That was really fast perfect premoves.
Eric is outstanding. This video was just amazing. Completely amazing.
@ 10 second? Probably impossible by humans.

2:41 that ok ok sounded like Tony Montana!
I need Eric screaming SPEED as my alarm cuz that shit wakes me up real quick lol
Andrea's voice is so adorable. Alexandra's Mic makes her everything she says sound like a meme haha

THE GIFT, OF LIFE
20:35 can we just talk about how insane that gambit was?! Using 3 pieces to attack and predict the kings movement..
@@aleks-wy6uf you mean Eric blundered since she could still move to f1?
@@aleks-wy6uf yeah you're right im just slightly irritated.
ツツツツツ g1 wasn’t an option though, since the king would still be on the same diagonal as the bishop e1 was the only good move, but it’s still winning for Eric
I love how eric keeps on asking for speed
2:26 the good old botez gambit
Four more: 5:30 10:53 15:58 16:27
@@italixgaming915 no at 5:30 she moved the knight away while the bishop was still in c1. Eric just dragged it above g5 cause he wanted to play it. When she moved it away he decided to put in on e3.
In 15:58 Eric attacked the queen with Be6 and she played Qc2. So no blunder. In 16:28 we had Qb3 by Andrea followed by Rb8 attacking the queen. After that she played Qc2 so again no blunder.
This is what I like to see! Similar feeling to old school chessbrah bullet streams but blended w streaming personality & good chess gimmick. Nice content, boys and girls.
Amazing, Eric. Boggles the mind how quickly you are able to formulate & execute plans. Kudos! [Also like to see this from POV Andrea.]

How the hell they were harassing him with women card
They really pulled the woman card lmao😂

Well done for even trying this. 18 Seconds is brutal. It makes you question your competence. You did really well.
This is fkin incredible
I'll need some blood pressure meds after watching this. I've seen the dancing they made Aman do.
Wtf? Eric used to win tournaments with only 10 seconds in lichess back then, Even by flagging his opponent. Now he struggles to adopt an 1800 with 18 seconds.
Up to this point, White has been following well-known analysis. But now he makes a fatal error: he begins to use his own head. ♧
In a sense it describes chess on all levels.
why do you copy and paste the same comment on all chess videos?
I play 10 minute games and panic when the clock goes below 1 minute 😂
Couldn't they just try to play super defensively, try to prolong the match as long as possible, to win via timeout?
Women empowerment 🤦♂️
You literally push watermelons through a lemon 🍋
I love Alexandra's aggressiveness doing business, she gets it done ...
Last time i played chess was when i was prolly like 12 years old and i have no idea wtf is going, its so fast
I noticed this earlier too. Andrea does not play like an 1800 chess player (in bullet)
Is that her real rating or is he faking for views?
This is content I subscribed for. 💪 Go Eric!
5th game you started with 18.4 sexy and ended with 0.3, so you lost
Im so bad at chess and poker and other games like that but i guess my oponent will never be able to guess my next move how bad i am LMAO
Holy Christ, i don't think a computer can think that fast. Well Done!
youve lost the 5th one i guess you had 0.3 sec left but started with 18.5 so if you would have startetd with 18 you would have lost
I disliked the video as soon as you yelled speed it penetrated my freaking brain. But then I changed my mind and liked it cuz I like the video lol
with these time challenges couldnt you just take the pieces or move the pieces youre trying to take and run the clock down
Oh, almost liked the video...
(If you know what I mean)
The woman’s card... seriously 🤣
the fact that they belittle women by playing the card ... pair of geniuses.

He kind of looks like Gabe from Good Luck Charlie, right?
i ate a 200 mg edible and i dont know how to play chess but i think this guys good
If eric was a CPU what would his clock speed be
20:36 that's a beautiful sequence of moves
11:17 if he got checkmated he would of raged lucky he won on time
I would also only need 18 seconds against the Botez sisters.
Haters be like : "18;03 seconds bro"
20:35 This tactic is not sound. Black is losing. Eric went for a Haille Mary and Andrea miscalculated. Oh well.
the hell are you talking about buddy, white has 4 squares to go to and all of them lose:
Kg2 Ne3
Kf1 Ne3
Ke1 Bc3 and N moves
Ke2 Ng3 and B moves
@@chessmasters9012 You're right. Didn't see that before. Thanks.
