It's time to bring back the Ruckus! It's been forever since I last rode my 171cc GY6 Ruckus. Not because I didn't want to, but I just never got around to ordering the bolts that went missing from my engine. Pathetic, I know. I shall atone for these sins of which I have committed. Of course, we gotta do some more mods while we're at it! So today I installed The Ruck Shop's Ultimate CVT and Stabilizer kit. Pretty sick!

Sounds like a gas issue.. He said sumn about the gas being old.. So that's the problem
@@ParadiseBiker Most likely, carbs are finicky with old gas. I saw he replaced the jets which is good. But also if the jets were adjusted dirty or one of the passage ways is clogged it needs to be retuned.

It sounds like it’s starving for fuel or something. To me it doesn’t sound the happiest🤷🏼♂️
Some of the gas in there is at least 6 months old. Gotta run through the rest of it. Should be good after that
@@motonosity Sounds like you may want to pull the plug and clean it. It sounds more like a misfire. Worth checking it out. I watched the entire build series whilst you were doing it. Loved it. It was so different. But anyway, pull that plug. Old fuel shouldn't really make it break up like that. Check, clean, re-gap, and maybe even replace the spark plug. Ride hard dude.
@@PostOfficeStudio The plug can malfunction with bad gas actually. Though running bad gas could also make the plug mess up, so yes replace it but the plug isn't bad just from being bad.

I aint good with thease but i remember that this problem has been around some time now with the ruckus, could bad ground be one of the reasons why its running bad? I mean it really does sound like the problem you guys said but is there a chance?

edit: also I noticed you aren't giving any gas when starting the Ruckus, since it's carbed you will need to give a tiny little blip of gas and it would start probably right away.
Little tip: after cleaning jets or doing carb work. Blow into one of the hoses attached to your manifold that’s connected to the fuel pump. It will fill up the lines and carb with gas before cranking so u don’t have to keep cranking until gas gets to the carb. ;)
check your float height. raise it 1mm or so. sounds like cutting out cruising.
I would love to see more of the ruck, I’ve got a gy6 171bbk and I’m hitting about 83 on it right now. Would be awesome to see you build something even more ridiculous

Moto, if you haven't already, go pick up an NGK iridium plug for it. If it's got a high comp piston, cam and running rich which is sounds like it, it will keep the plug from getting blown out at high RPM causing the misfire. Needs less voltage to cross the gap, side effect is coil will last longer too.

Yo Moto, on getting that bearing out: Use a ratchet extension or something round that fits in the center of the bearing perfectly, pack it full of grease first, stick that in there and hit it with a hammer. Might take a few tries but the grease will push the bearing out.
Powder coat it whatever color then get the clear glow in the dark powder coat on top

sounds like a air leak,, I know that's a real name brand carb but you should try the stock one to see if it still does that, or try ordering a cheap 26mm carb 30bucks on ebay just to narrow it down to see if its a carb issue,,, great build tho
Tommy Brumfield no need to replace carb to find air leak. A highly flammable solvent will expose any air leaks.
@@roberttimmons5638 right but will not solve just a bad carb.. air leaks are one thing but a shitty carb is another. iv had 30dollor carbs work better than 150 carbs and solve problems .so I guess u didn't read my comment right because I said could be a air leak or could be a carb issue .sometimes its just not the right carb for you set up and just simply trying another carb to see if it still does the same thing is a lot faster than trying 10 other things first . like I said iv been through that 1000 times in my 40 years so yes what you said is true "sometimes" but a air leak is not hard to find most of the time so I wouldn't think its that anyway

I bet ya if you tune the carb more it will gain speed and acceleration cause it sounds mean now but you can hear it was at 1 solid rpm the whole time until you got to the down hill than it went up ever so slightly if it wasnt starving for fuel it would be hauling

To me it sounds like you need to go up a size in the main jet/adjust your air fuel mix screw. It still seems to not be too happy I remember last time you made a video on it it was going the same thing.
What weights did you guys end up running with your weight and engine build for the top speed?

I think you should do another Ruckus build, but piecemeal and finding the cheapest parts possible on classifieds. Sort of like, what's the cheapest you could possibly build a gy6 Ruck for.

Are you still using stock GY6 150 cc cylinderhead and stock cam? I’m building GY6 motor 170 cc Taida with forged 61 mm high compression piston, Naraku big valve cylinderhead with 28.5 mm intake valve and 23 mm exhaust valve (still must be ported), A8 performance camshaft, 30 mm CVK carb, modified performance intake (originally it has very sharp short side with bad flow). No performance exhaust yet, but I took off that catalysator from it. It’s not going to Ruckus. It’s going to Chinese Baotian scooter which is originally 125 cc.
What size variation weights do you use? I’ve got a gy6 150 and want to go up to 171 but I’m looking to find out what weights match the top speed you get. Thanks, I’ve watched the whole series.

Sounds like a spark issue. Try replacing the plug after a new fuel
Change out the headlight unit for something custom. I think it would look cool with a singular triangle headlight or like something.
Most Scooter headlights run on a 30 to 35 watt headlight system unlike big bikes or cars that run 55 watt to 60 watt bulbs. If you put that 55 to 60 watt in most scooters it will melt the headlight housing .
he said in the build series hes keeping the oem lights to add to the cafe racer retro look. I love the oem lights,kept em on mine but changed the bulbs to leds.
Try using dot4 brake fluid instead of dot3,should let you bleed the brakes better
