As a Secular Carmelite, I chose Elizabeth of the Trinity in my name. Thank you so much for this wonderful series on such a deeply contemplative Saint!

Good day CarmelCast. Thank you so much for this. I'm an ex-seminarian of The Order of Carmelites (O.Carm) here in the Philippines and presently, I'm a Third Order Carmelite. I first met St. Elizabeth of the Trinity during my novitiate. I think she's a very good teacher of the Interior Life, the one that she refers to as the "Cell of the Heart" like St. Catherine of Siena. Please pray for me that I'll continue to live the contemplative life while living in the world. Thank you so much and God bless!

Hi CarmelCast/ICS Publications, would you be able to link the mentioned poem at 30:26 "May Your Will Be Done". Funnilly in fact my birthday is St. Elizabeth's feast day and I've just discovered her from your previous videos and honestly she's helped in my discernment to the priesthood as in the future I want to be an O.Carm or OCD parish priest. Is there anyway to contact you guys if I have any questions that you haven't (I perhaps haven't seen) made a video on yet?

The trials of discernment that St. Elizabeth has and how she responded echo so similar to mine it's crazy Laus Deo

Thanks for your comment, Ken! The poem hasn't been officially published yet, but I'll include the text below. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions: carmelcast@icspublications.org. Know of our prayers for your discernment. May God's will be done in your life as in St. Elizabeth's!
      May your will be done!
For a long time now, Beloved Savior,
I have consecrated my poor life to you
In the hope of consoling your Heart.
I seek only to leave the world
I have no love at all for its impure spirit,
And in the midst of these false pleasures
I desire to suffer even more.
In one of these dear monasteries,
Where the Rule is hard and very austere,
I would like to share your sorrows
O divine Spouse, O sweet Savior!
Yet you want nothing further from me now...
When shall I be able to give myself to you?
Oh, if it pleases you to see me suffer
      Without answering my devout desire,
      May your will be done
And may it be forever blessed.
What you want, I want too
O my Jesus, O heavenly Friend,
May your will then be mine,
And may my pious hope sustain me.

female family dynamics: the mother is quite controlling, but somewhat to be expected as the father died and the mother had to raise two girls alone (many women would have remarried, but the woman had already lost a love to war, so this was her second great love loss and that would have affected her ability to try to find another relationship, later in life--and have further children--still there are other women who have done it, when faced with harsh realities); the brunt of this death was probably born by Elizabeth as the oldest child (how many children have a father die in their arms as a child? not too many--that shows some emotional weakness on the part of the mother)...Elizabeth was probably torn between having to take care of her mother and wanting to be free of the responsibility of having to care for a clinging/controlling parent and having to fulfill that role of the missing father--really not fair and it would not bode well for a future marriage for Elizabeth as well--her family dynamic was very much damaged....(the second daughter would have been somewhat shielded from the expectations on the oldest child--and was more able to find and sustain a normal relationship)....dts/usa
