I am so sad that I never got to see this and devastated that there is no recording of it for sale. =( sob Thank you, thank you, thankyou for up loading this for those who have been deprived.
La, but those shimmering tiger striped and purple giraffe coats are too funny...even as they're so very 'summery'. And the leg bounce on the settee! ROTF! Makes me..."Swoon!"
Only no one is Douglas Sills he would be a hard act to fallow. I saw it in Minneapolis and he invited some of us fans back to his dressing room. He was so nice chatting and giving autographs
@XxGreymoonxX The song is available on the Original Broadway Recording. Borders will sometimes have it in-stock in-store. If not, most stores can order it. The whole CD is worth owning -- all of the songs are fantastic.
@wincipoet *playfully* Don't knock him out of the running yet! Fred Terry, the first Pimpernel on-stage, kept playing the role nearly until he was retired -- more than 2000 performances. Surely Sills has still got a few more daring escapes and flashy swordfights left in him!
Thank you so much for uploading all these great videos from this amazing (and my all-time favourite!) show!!! Is the full thing available anywhere? I want to see it more than any other show!!
So frustrating. No subtitles and I can only make out 10% Men in tights. As a woman, it seems to me that this would be more difficult for soldiers to live out for years that to charge right into battle.
This must be one of the most godawful songs I have ever heard from a Broadway musical. The whole premise of the production is mistaken - the director has created this as a comedy, while Baroness Orczy's novel was dead serious and took heroism seriously. Luckily, I was unaware of it when I lived in New York and never wasted a ticket on it. I find most reprehensible the audience's laughter elicited by all the hijinks on stage. What a miss!
If you've never seen the show you don't know what you're missing. They're intentionally being ridiculous here, trying to sell themselves to the prince as foppish, brainless nitwits, but there is plenty of serious drama and intrigue throughout the show as well. I feel sorry for you that you haven't seen it. It's one of my all time favorites.
I love that choreography and the fun those guis seem to have while performing it. That is the way, theatre should be
When this show toured to my hometown, the applause and cheering from this number stopped the performance cold for a full three minutes.
Fantastic! The choreography was amazing and perfect! I was laughing and clapping! The part from Swan Lake was perfect. I just loved it!

If I could go back in time and see this!!
I would love to see David Tennant as Percy and Alan Rickman as Chauvelin. I think that would just be awesome. :D
David Tennant would make a PERFECT Percy! I think!
Rip alan rickman 😔
That would have been an awesome casting

I LOVE DOUGLAS SILLS. He and Anthony Andrews are the best Percys EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is, indeed, a hilarious show. Granted, this is one of the funniest scenes in the whole play, but the humor is anything but thin on the ground. :D

@@maicey_t. The show is such a good balance between comedy and drama, definitely one of my favorite musicals of all time
