@@Kratos1829 thanks appreciate it 😎👍🏼. I take commissions but I'm currently booked for the next 4-5 months. But feel free to email/message me if you see an announcement when my schedule opens.
Nothing beats comic book proportioned BEAST! You'd think theyd have figured it out by now on screen! BEAST, Apocalypse, and Omega Red are three X badasses that havent been done judtice on screen. The third one is impossible for them to do!
Thanks for the feedback. We ran a poll.. somewhat 50/50 but most agreed in order to keep it comic accurate the face/hands needed to be blue. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Primer 40psi .. Acrylic base coats around 20psi ... shading and highlighting around 10-15 psi. I go over compressor settings in my How to Airbrush videos.
Amazing job, I'm doing this model right now and I realize that I'm doing fire wrong. I was doing red at the base orange at the middle and yellow at the top whereas I should probably be doing the whole thing in yellow and then orange and red on the tips of the flame. Having said that with all the details that you did why did you just leave the triangular base silver with just the black behind the X? I've done a bunch of Wicked X-Men models and the base is almost always the same but it's so detailed that just leaving it one color seems like a waste. Doing the thing black and then highlighting the different tubes and grooves different colors of either silver or copper or white or any contrasting color makes it stand out instead of just a flat grayish silver base.
There's really no right or wrong way. You can invert the colors. It depends on the sculpt and the overall look you're going for. As for the base..it's a few metallic colors.. the entire base was painted 'aluminum', the destroyed areas were 'metallic exhaust manifold', the crevices and back panels were 'gun metal', and some of the wires were highlighted white aluminum. But yes everything was very subtle and probably doesn't show up on camera. The decision on paint/colors was up to the client.. but also at my discretion as well.. we decided to keep the focus on the main sentinel base and Beast figure.. and have the sub-base less distracting. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Yes, airbrush gun by Iwata. And compressor by Master. I left product links in the video description. Just click on the "more" button by the video title. Or at the beginning of the video you'll see product links pop up quickly that you can click on. Hope that helps.
Is there another medium from vallejo that works the same als the clear base transparente (62.068). I'm currently printing beast and I like the purple finish mixed with the clear base. Great paintwork!
@@bvansteyn thanks. A clear medium from Vallejo, mixed with purple was used on top of the metal aluminum. As well as a pearl medium mixed with purple. The pearl will give you a richer/saturated color. The clear medium by itself will be more on the subtle/dull side. I did a mixture of both throughout the statue base. If you can't find a clear medium from Vallejo ...Golden makes a transparent medium called Golden High Flow.
Plenty of tutorials on the channel 😎👍🏼 thanks for watching (I recommend the membership feature for unedited/or the Live streams for the entire paint process)
I recently just did a video on the Elegoo Saturn 3. It really depends on what you're looking to print.. but if you have the space definitely go for something with a large build plate this way you can print all sizes.. both big and small. Top two popular brands would be Elegoo and Anycubic for the value. The Saturn series are very reliable.
@samuelgreen8970 that's the newest version. Depends on what size you're looking to print. Anything 1/6 yes. Anything 1/4 ...most likely (bases might need to be cut into pieces). Anything bigger than 1/4 no. If you give me an idea of the size you're looking to print I can give you a better idea. Anything printed large would definitely be more money as it would be a bigger printer.
@@samuelgreen8970 best advice would be to join a dedicated Facebook group for the printer you own. With 3D printing there's always going to be issues/questions as you go. So having a community with everyone that owns that same printer would be best ...this way you can compare settings and technical issues.
Hey brother, I’m a pro professional comic artist and I’ve got a question for you. I collect sideshow, XM etc statues, but I’m starting to look at more of these 3-D printed 1/3 scale ones, if I wanted to pay someone to print a statue similar to the one you just did unpainted what would be a fair price for me to pay for that statue to be created?.
@@Artofwilliamrussell thanks for reaching out. I'm also a collector from those companies as well. Send me an email or message me on Instagram/Facebook so we can discuss prices. @@neo06m2003 due to the complexity of the design we/the client decided to go for more of a cleaner look.. but yeah otherwise would have loved to weathered the base.. it would have made life easier painting it 😁 The focus of the explosion was the back of the base being that had the most damage. I didn't show the steps on camera but it was covered with exhaust manifold, shards of destroyed paint/metal and blacked out from the smoke. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
