Wow i'd forgotten that song, I used to play that song busking in Ottawa. I don't play it exactly the same but so close I feel my younger self has been vindicated! Fun fact...i always did the double down...as I used to play it on a 12 string...and the double down just sounded right. Thanks for this!
First band I saw live when I was a kid. They played at the del Mar racetrack. Everyone was super drunk and barfing in the fountain there. Good times :')

This is the first song I ever learned on guitar, some 26 years ago. Check out Country Death Song also by the Violent Femmes. It's just one chord.
