About the interviewer than the subject these days.. People slag of Terry Wogan syle interviews but he actually bought out the personality of the people he interviewed
Incredibly honest introspection, shorn of cliché, emotionally bared and yet touchingly shy about that fact. You get the sense that none of these facts are simply unconscious results of his personality, but rather painstakingly chosen as the best way to be. Great stuff.
learning that there were other human being like creatures called Neanderthals that existed alongside us or that there is a moon around Saturn made from ice which most probably has a liquid ocean beneath its frozen surface held way WAY more magic value for me than trying to sustain in my mind the ever deflating/disappointing myth of Father Christmas given to me in a half arsed way by adults and TV. ps I love stewart lee
@retread01 It would probably produce more reasonable members of society, but would probably also remove something about being a child and being a human being in general. It's a tough choice. In practice it's impossible anyway. People want to believe in symbols.
Stewart isn't one of those arrogant atheists who like to laugh at believers . He is a confident atheist. He dosn find religion a threat. Deep mind he has.
In a nutshell what we are seeing here is a person admitting that there is something good about the society and culture that he has been attacking and tearing down.
He's a lovely guy. Good interview too, allowing him to speak for long time without interruption....something that would never happen on TV

The cultural Christmas story is still paramount for society...
Don't know why really, but I found that quite moving... thank you Mr Lee.

If you tell your child to put a carrot on the roof, you may well avoid all the ethical dilemma's in future years.
Unless you're Bugs Bunny's siblings
Put a carrot on the roof? I never did that. Poor Rudolf.
