By the end, she ended up ballet dance jumping from the roof after she couldn't save her child & her daughter was sadly murdered "Take them to a kinder world." They only reunited in the afterlife... What a beautifully directed episode & what a tragic episode...

This one was laser targeted for kids who grew up in single parent households. I don't doubt it impacted people from all sorts of backgrounds, but anyone who is intimately familiar with the struggle and self doubt that comes with raising a kid on your own, sniper shot right to the feels. As brutal as it was, truly a beautiful episode, and on the plus side, likely triggered an epidemic of an unexpected mom hugs.
It really was filmed like a short movie. I understood this episode to its core 😭

I have a son and two god daughters, this episode wrenched my heart because children in distress messes me up badly. I knew as soon as I saw all the happy moments between Silky and her daughter where it was going and as soon as you see the daughter in complete distress, then freaking out more after she tries to go to her injured mother and is taken I couldn't handle any part of my emotions.

If this was a laser sighted sniper shot to the feels, then Vamola and Unji arc will be an ICBM missile launched directly to the capital of your innards. Aside from the obvious flaws and archetype this manga has, it makes up for it in the character designs and writing

It was my departed mom's birthday when this episode dropped... I fricking lose it immediately as soon as the happy memories they had together floods in... 😢❤ Those who still have there moms out there, make them feel loved and appreciated EVERYDAY ❤

As u can see, silky was a prostitute while working several other jobs to earn enough money for her child, as her waking up in the love hotel with money on the nightstand is supposedly left by her client.
Also, even though it is censored (not in the manga) due to sensitive subject matters, silky didn’t actually die on the street. The night sky blended with the city lights implied that she is actually on the rooftop of the building, and the surface of water is simply the buildup of the rain. And the last jump she did is actually her jumping off the building, killing herself, as a loud stump and a blackout is soon followed as hints that suggest her suicide.
Dandadan rlly outdid themselves on this ep, whether if it’s comedy, romance, horror, or tragedy, it is just so beautifully animated and well put together :’)
It’s a mother duity to protect her child and also emotional damage 🫂

God, this episode broke me. People like to joke about how "dead moms" are such a cliched trope in anime, but when done right, it always hits you in the feels, even if you haven't lost your mother. Yeah, I take back my thoughts on Aira, too. Can't wait to see how she gets more involved in all of this. When do the new episodes come out on Crunchyroll again?

This to me was the crack in the dam where my eyes just bursted into tears. Godammit man... you did everything you could... dont you dare call that effort worthless... cus then the reason why she smiled would be all for naught. You did good silky... You did your best.
This is why I am very grateful for my parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents who helped raise me. I make sure to thank them and let them know how much I love them every chance I get.

I have like 30 minutes crying continously and each time harder, repeating the same water dance scene, after finishing that scene a lot of times, i'm watching this video and i'm still crying so bad, i see you crying and cried even more, this hurted so much because it was so real, when i saw okarun transformed it made me realize that i was watching a shonen, dan da dan is the first anime in years that made me realize why i loved anime so much, this anime makes me laugh so much, makes me feel identified and heartwarming thanks to the relationship of both characters and this episode was the peak till now, everything in this episode was emotionally perfect.

Silky's backstory was absolutely tragic, but your reaction to this episode was absolutely amazing, #ARUUU. I actually love Aira now. I really hated her in the last episode, but now she's my second favorite character in this series because she's so pretty. My overall favorite character in this anime is still Momo because she's the cutest.

Who are these guys, you may ask?
While it wasn't explicitly explained in the manga, we can piece together their identity from similar stories in anime/manga, movies, other shows and real life.
These men are most likely debt collectors or loan sharks whom she owed money to, possibly from debts inherited from her husband who either left or died. The debt must have been so substantial that she needed to work multiple jobs just to make payments.
When the mother decided to treat her daughter to a new dress, she likely couldn't make her payment, which triggered the horrific scenario below. These criminals probably took her daughter to exploit her for money to settle the debt (use your imagination).
It's a harsh reality, but sadly, scenarios like this happen all over the world. Life can indeed be very cruel.

Of course, episode 7 was amazing. As a Japanese person, this story was not surprising to me. In Japanese folk tales, evil spirits are often saved like this. In Japan, the living and the dead interact with each other.
I love stuff like this. All the shrines and cool places around Japan just seem so mystical and spiritual. I spent 3 years at MCAS Iwakuni in Yamaguchi Prefecture when I was in the Marines. I'd go on liberty and visit as many shrines as I could, trying to learn as much as I could.

All the things she did and had to do to provide for her daughter. As a reader, this still hit me like a fucking truck. I have always had both my parents but as immigrants we started with nothing and my parents worked so hard to make it and to provide for my brother and I. These kind of stories really make me remind myself to appreciate them more. Dandadan Anime of the year.

Watching this as a parent, with a little girl of my own, this one really got to me. The little girl crying and screaming was hard to stomach. As a parent, you'll sacrifice anything, go to any length to keep your children safe. My heart breaks for the mother, saying all the things she wish she had done, when she had already given everything she had for her daughter

The Ballet Dancing Scene, quick memory flashback of her daughter right before the "Thud" sound of her fall crashing on the floor, that was Brutal.
I assume that Aila's lack of a mother has caused her to act stout-heartedly, but she has also developed an arrogance. This is her unpleasant side, but she also has a gentle side, which I believe makes her a truly human child. It may not exonerate Aira from her misdeeds, but I can guess that she believes she is special and wants to save the world because she still wants her mother to think of her as a child she can be proud of.

To give a bit of her backstory, she was a single mother with one daughter. She used to be a ballerina, but now she works multiple jobs (including prostitution). Burdened by debt, her daughter was one day taken by debt collectors. In desperation, she jumped off the roof of a building. Of course, this is a fictional story, but it raises the question-why didn’t she go to the police? Such a scenario seems unlikely in modern Japan (or perhaps I’m just unaware…).
After her death, she became a ghost and wandered until she met Aira, who mistook her for her mother. Having forgotten her own daughter, she came to believe that Aira was her child and possessed her in order to protect her. Later, Aira was able to recognize her when she picked up a golden ball.

I hope the next episode spends some time to cool down and wrap up this story before heading into the next story beat. Aira at least deserves some more time to shine in relation to this arc before the story chooses to either keep her or let her be.
