Listening to the Celtics post game comments I can't help but think what a class bunch of guys. Much humility and a lot of tough guys on that team. Great team champs!
Players that would be centers in the 80s and should be now: Garnett, Duncan, amare, Monroe, Drummond, boogie, Elton brand, horford, Aldridge, al Jefferson, both gasols, unibrow, Dirk, bosh, basically anyone that's 6'10 or above or if they had a legit inside dominance to em
Some young on the team and some old some from major schools some from UNC Charlotte way to go Cedrick Maxwell! Chief Larry Kevin foundations for success .
In the Eastern Conference finals (which was the better series) the Celtics had to deal with Dawkins in the middle and against Houston they had Moses Malone. Two of the top physical centers in NBA history. Maxwell's role on the team changed over the next few years to more of a defensive player. That shows you how deep the Celtics were during the 80s.
IDK, Cornbread Maxwell tackling that old man in the stands during the Philly ECF series was pretty epic. I know that wasn't in the finals but he should at least get a trophy for that move!

+Darkzz Lord if Jesus Christ isn't your Lord you are going to sadly lament it someday unless you repent in time by taking it back. The wicked unrepentant and other disbelievers unfortunately end up in the lake of fire and brimstone. which it is hell. the second death. there is no rest there at all. it is horrible torment there for all eternity. Lord Jesus Christ is the only one that can save us from ending up there. We got to willingly accept Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and repent from our sins in His name. While we still can before we pass away. After we pass away we can't change our decision.
I did not see Houston with any chance to win they did not seem that good as a team. Robert Reed, Billy Paulz, Henderson... A rag tag bunch... Malone, however! Gritty, but that is not going to work against this Celtic team. I watched a little bit but lost interest. Whoever plays the Nuggets it will be a game like this. Yawn.
The celtics were just just all Bird, maxwell and Tiny. Parish was just a new addition and was just regaining his inspiration abck, before that he was uninspired and lazy. mchale was a rookie and was just used as substitute.
Not really. Every team knew that Bird was going to stay in college for his senior year and graduate. Most teams couldn't afford to pick a player that wouldn't help them immediately. The Celtics had the 6th pick in the first round and took the gamble. Bird could just as easily been the first pick if he wasn't staying at ISU. I think it was a phenomenal decision on his part.

love the prayer from coach Fitch.
Great series. Great win for Boston!!!
Bill Fitch thanking Jesus. Wowzers.
Wholly appropriate.
Different times
no way they are winning this game without mr. parish--underrated player
Holy shit, because of that TV difficulty at 11:59, the station MISSED showing Larry Bird's game-sealing three-pointer?!

Rick Barry interviewing? Cool
+tubenachos Should've waited until the celebration was over to do the interviews haha.

Bird robbed of the Finals MVP that year. Should be retroactively changed.

Glad that he gave glory to Jesus. He is the one that deserves the praise
Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord
Okay and I'll respect that but as far as I'm concerned he's my Lord. If you'd like to know more I'd be happy to tell you.

@Отоја Јамагучи just becuase your parenta raised you in a trash can u poser pussy jealous that you cant dribble or get pussy
Mose Malone, unstoppable in the pant area of the basket 🧺 late 1970& early 1980s, owned the backboard
Billy paultz, number 5 is an forgotten sharpshooting big man
This was the time when the games are in delayed telecast.
Love it
Boston 1981 was strong team
Tiny in his prime was one of the best guards in nba
One of the best Boston Celtics team.
After this video, the NBA made the breakaway goal the only basket allowed in the league.
Magic is 20 year old in 1980 while Bird is 20 in 1981
Bird was 24 in the 1981 season. Birthday: *December* 7, 1956.
Magic's birthday is August 14, 1959.
Porzingis should be a center, Ibaka too
The guys ignoring Rick Barry in the locker room.
Getting moments in the media obviously wasn't their first priority. 😀 Especially when they just wanted to celebrate their victory together.
Robert Reid looks good here.
The Whopper.
The Rockets would not win a championship for another 13 years.
This was 1981, they won in 84 and 86 too.
How many times did Houston go to the NBA Finals in the 80's?

Postgame prayer - the horror of it all. Bill Fitch wouldn’t have been canceled, he would have been tarred and feathered today.
Rick Robby selected ahead of Larry bird in the draft. You know that funny.
Tyrone, Robey was not in Birds draft class, you have Bidenitis, it's a brain evaporating virus

I did not see Dr. j. I guess he must have been hurt in this game. Dr. J all time greatest! Moses Malone also all time greatest.
@tyrone1544 Dr. J never played for Houston. In 1982, Moses Malone was traded to the 76ers. That's when they became teammates 👍🏾
