    I bought the Lixada stove about two years ago, I believe I paid £12 GBP and use it when I don't need my trusty Trangia, it's an amazing stove and you definitely can't go wrong for the price you pay. It's also convenient as instead of carrying fuel, just collect wood/twigs, pinecones on your journey. Great video 👍😀

    You just convinced me as to which stove to get. It is overwhelming how many configurations there are of stoves. I found this one for $16.39 u.s.d. then I get $5.00 off on top of that ,so get it.

      That's great to hear. Glad the video helped you decide. At that price you really can't go wrong. Just make sure you preload it properly. Put your twigs in vertically and keep them fairly short and stuff the thing snug. Then light from the top, not the bottom. Works great.

      @@AndreHebertFishing Thanks I ordered it right after watching your video . I should have it the 25th. It cost me $ 11.39

    The pot has a heat exchanger on it.
    That would help to get the water boiling quicker,but is a hassle to clean the soot from the exchanger.

    A soup can lid fits in the bottom perfectly if you want an alternative for wood pellets, the number of holes in it will determine burn time

    What are you using to start the fire? The stick and cord thing...

      It's a jute twine brake tube firestarter I made. Works extremely well in windy, wet conditions. I got the idea from this video th-cam.com/video/ZsI6H0zx0BA/w-d-xo.html

    I have a wood gas stove and that smoking (according to my experience) means that the flame was blown out.

    Not used this particular stove but used other wood gas stoves, try removing the mesh and instead place some twigs on the bottom to stop the wood pellets from falling, that should stop the smoking at the end.

      I use a stainless steel mesh at the bottom of mine when I use wood pellets. It works perfectly (if not a bit hot).

    I want to get the 15-inch model. Then again, I'm not looking to use it for packing either.

      To be honest with you I didn't know there was a 15 inch model. If you buy it, I'd be interested to know how it works out.

    Bonjour Is it a good stove ?
    Better than single wall stove ?

    • @AndreHebertFishing
      @AndreHebertFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bonjour! I can't tell you if it's better than a single wall stove because I don't have experience with one, but I know this one is very easy to use, has great draft and works quite well. I used it in Algonquin Park for a week last May and it never failed me even using damp twigs. For the price you can't go wrong. I supposed one of those single wall stoves might be a bit lighter and pack more tightly if space/weight are a big concern.

    Will it work just by lighting the twigs with a match or lighter? I don't understand about the cotton wool fire starter things. Do the cotton fire starters make the fire bigger? I've bought one in case the power goes out to cook and boil water on my yard in an emergency but don't want it creating a big overpowering fire, just enough to cook and boil water.

    • @AndreHebertFishing
      @AndreHebertFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your twigs are really dry it would probably work. I used petroleum soaked cotton balls to help the fire starting process along. They're a very commonly used homemade tinder. Using them has no effect on the size of the fire. Their only purpose is to get the fire going. Hope this helps!

    • @katec9893
      @katec9893 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndreHebertFishing Thanks. When you say petroleum, can you use vaseline petroleum jelly?

    • @AndreHebertFishing
      @AndreHebertFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@katec9893 yeah I just take a bit of Vaseline and rub it into the cotton balls. Works well.
