    Right on man. Respect. I always like to check these videos because you would be surprised how many people really are very much beginers themselves yet they are trying to make these videos and really are not saying much. When I started painting in the early 80s there was no graff paints, no low pressure cans and we mostly used modified stock caps for outlines. To kill the pressure of our outline cans we flipped the can and let out some of the pressure without the paint coming out. Its not an exact science though if u let out to much you have paint left without enough pressure but for Krylon or rusto back then that was the trick. I also never hear anybody even master painters talk about the numbers for the cone concave on the front of every cap there is. most dont even understand that. If u look on every cap there is there are usually 2 numbers that are raised on the plastic front of the cap on the circle. They tell you the cone of the tip. lets say 2 and 8 . that means at the biginning of the bottom of the caps inside diameter the paint starts at a 2 pressure and then flares at an 8 diameter at the exit. that makes every lets say skinny grey dot like you said you use different as to the pressure . that will for sure change how 5 of the same cap work. Dont worry I know you never heard of it before almost nobody gets that. Trust and believe thats the truth. check it out. You teach that i bet you anything nobody else ever did a video on that. coming up in nyc in the beginning you learn many inside golden tips. I like the way you executed this video . respect my gift to u. look into it . check your tips u will see.

    • @GraffitiTutorials
      @GraffitiTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, that's awesome, you're right, I never knew that about the numbers on the caps. Thanks for sharing, glad you enjoyed the video. I don't really upload to this channel anymore but do check it every now and then. I made most of these videos years back when I was much less experienced. I feel like I could do a much better job now at most of them, but just don't have the time!

    Man, I gotta say the tip about cooling the can was a life saver. I was getting so frustrated because I was having a hard time getting a clean line with a Montana level 2 cap on a Gold can. I keep my cans in the garage, which were im at gets pretty warm, and the cans themselves are definitely warm to the touch, I had never thought about the fact that the paint was thinning out from the heat which is were my problem lies!

      What do you mean by "fliping the can"?

    • @TravisMeeks6
      @TravisMeeks6 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      they mean to turn the can upside down and spray out the propellant in the can. you'll see paint come out at first, then it'll turn clear; that's the propellant.

      @GraffitiTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      This only make it lower pressure for a few seconds, you’ll get a really skinny line because that’s the tiny bit of paint left in the straw, but once you turn it up right again and spray for a couple seconds the pressure will go back to normal.

    another tip that I have found by myself is distance between can and wall. if you keep your can too far away from the wall it's going to be less paint applied to the wall, if you keep your can too close to the wall it's going to overspray a little, depends on your speed. you gotta find the right and comfortable distance for you to paint

    i do not know the difference between low and high pressure when it comes to spray paint cans but should i put it inside the freezer whether it is a low or high pres?

    • @GraffitiTutorials
      @GraffitiTutorials  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the freezer trick will work on either one, as it thickens the paint. High and low pressure cans are down to the valve they have in them. One allows lots of paint to get out which results in a fatter line and faster coverage, whereas low pressure valves allow a softer flow of paint to come out so slower coverage but great for detail

    • @GraffitiTutorials
      @GraffitiTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jimmy Dean it depends what future using them for mate, if you was using them just to spray something a certain colour like a car, then you need to warm them up, because it cases them to flow better. But if you need to put details or an outline on a piece of graff, then you want it nice and low pressure, so you put them in the fridge and it thickens the paint up. Spits a bit but self lowers the pressure 👍🏼 try it!

    I'm going to use the montana gold shock white and acid green to painty mountain bike frame, do I need to wait for the white to dry before applying the green? I don't want the paint to run and blend with white, I want it to be a vibrant green

    • @GraffitiTutorials
      @GraffitiTutorials  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My advice is to send the bike down first, them prime with the Montana metal primer, give a couple of light coats, leave it for a day to dry so that it's not tacky, then go onto that with a couple of light coats of the acid green. Use a nice soft cap rather than a skinny or fat cap. Like the one that comes with Montana Gold cans. Be patient, dont build up too many layers of paint too quickly otherwise it will run and also take ages to dry.
      Hope this helps 👍

      @@GraffitiTutorials hey thank you so much for the reply. Ok so I'll primer the bike, spray 2-3 layers of the shock white then let it cure all the way, then sand with 800 grit and spray 2-3 coats of acid green and let dry for at least 24-48 hours then clear over it? Or should I clear it after 15 min of spraying last coat of green?

    • @GraffitiTutorials
      @GraffitiTutorials  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@enigmaticreverieproduction5169 If the primer is white, then theres no need for the shock white? Leave plenty of drying time before putting the clear coat on too. Also, after sending it the first time, wash it down with some wax and grease remover.

      @@GraffitiTutorials primer is beige that's why I was going to use the shock white as first base coat so I can get that pop for the acid green. Should I wait for base coats to cure completely and sand before clear

    • @GraffitiTutorials
      @GraffitiTutorials  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@enigmaticreverieproduction5169 the montana universal primer is white, I'm not sure if its suitable for metal but if its "universal" it should be fine. Just leave a day or so in between each coat and you should be fine. A light sand with some fine grit sand paper should be fine

    Loop is actually not low pressure And you forgett flame blue for low pressure But yes that where some nice tips! Also get close to the wall But for high pressure The cans are not really HP They are "high Output" Wich means you can get reaally thin lines with a skinny cap and reaally fat ones with fat caps For example try kobra or flame orange or the montana black with a skinny cap The real HP cans are the 600ml (or bigger) cans and i think mtn speed as well

    what does can control mean? Its for school....

    • @GraffitiTutorials
      @GraffitiTutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It means the amount of control that you have over the can, the greater the can control you have, the better your art will look. With good can control you will be able to achieve cleaner lines and special effect. With bad can control your work wont look clean and will be very drippy and messy.
