Hi there, I hope you're enjoying the game! I know it feels bad to get combo'd, but try not to give up and focus on how DI can get you out of danger! For example, the reason ninjas almost never use that laser thing (apart for the fact that you need to Chuck heavy to set it up, and that move is kinda bad usually), is because it gets their opponent far away very quickly, and then if you DI upwards they can't keep using it because you just get out of the way. And there's a lot of situations in which the right DI can make your opponent's life much harder or make them spend resources to keep the combo going! A couple of examples, mostly against ninja: DI away against Sweep (they can't follow up without insta cancel), DI down against aerial Kick, DI away from most wizard and cowboy moves, DI down against TRY CATCH and screw around with the wheel against VACUUM, often you can stay out of danger!
You can actually do a couple of things to get out of a grab. He used burst in the video but you can also mirco jump it, dodge roll away or into it, and back dash if your character has one. But I believe if they select dash grab they catch you on the back dash so be cautious with that one
If ninja chuck heavies, he has red wave in mind, he might not use it but he is definetly considering to, so always be prepared for it when he telegraphs and if you are scared of chuck jump just put the parry there
@@CMRNhere Try-Catch was blockable until 1.8 (the block update) so I think that's why the commenter above made that mistake. But it's true that earthquake can be blocked, so it isn't a true grab
I like fighting them normally this was just a circumstance where I didn't want to deal with them. Plus I'm lazy, so I'd didn't feel like changing it just to record the video. It did work out though since I beat a modded character at the end!
