Thanks for the comment about moving the lid to close the top entrance.

I have a hive that I recently requeened. It doesn’t have much of a brood nest at the moment, should I wait until the new queen has time to build it up to put in the apivar?

I would go ahead. Less brood means less mites hiding behind capped cells and therefore a better kill.

Here in central Arkansas the temps are still in the high 90s. At the beginning of August . Would apivar still be save to use?

Yes, you can use apivar with high temps. We are above 90 here in NC too.

I also have supers on but was planning on feeding that back to the bees since this is my first year. Would it be ok to leave this on for that situation?

As long as the honey is not going to be consumed, I don’t see a problem with it. There could probably be an argument made about the residue in the wax if the supers were going to be used for surplus next year, but I believe that residual would be extremely minimal if any.

On their website they say use chemical resistant gloves because touching them with your bare skin can be fatal in other words they can kill you. The biggest beekeeping supplier in England Thornes TH-cam video showing how to use the strips and put them in the Hive and they're wearing no gloves. I like using the strips they work really well but I've had Queen's disappear days after putting them in.

I am aware of the need for gloves. I spoke of that in the video. I didn’t wear them for the video because I use my phone to control the camera and gloves don’t work. I made a brief exception and returned to normal operations after making the video, which includes gloves. Thanks for the response.

Who makes your veil? or Where did you get it from?

That’s a clear-vue. There are two versions of that style: zip-in and tie-down. Several bee supply places carry them. I think that one came from Rossman.

Don’t make a video if you don’t follow the label . Always wear nitrate gloves

Don’t make a Vidio if your not following the label. Always where gloves.

I am very much aware of the label requirements and as I mentioned in the video, you should wear gloves. I find it hard to operate the camera remotely with my phone with gloves on so I made a brief exception for the video. Thanks for your response.
