Disney Debate Critical Drinker On Piers Morgan & Get Nuked

- In a shocking turn of events The Critical Drinker joined a news panel debate on Piers Morgan's show where he along with Nerdrotic debated a Disney representative on why Disney is failing as a company and the Critical Drinker made so many bulletproof arguments against the recent Disney movies that it is only right I react to this video as it really sums up every way Disney has failed as a studio, a business and as filmmakers, from the MCU to Star Wars, all of their franchises have been absolutely nuked.
**Disclaimer I wasn't sure if the man they debated works for Disney or just supports Disney, due to the title of the video I react to it seemed like he worked for Disney however I am not sure personally.

Disney used to touch our hearts, now they touch us inappropriately.
True. My wallet and I feel molested everytime a new Disney movie comes out.
This comment is viral... And that's telling how much Disney has ticked off the audience.
Lol! Touchin my last nerv, too!
I’m seeing this comment in every video I watch
I wouldn't go that far. But I do have to pre watch Disney films before showing them to my kids.
It's not just "woke" or whatever. They also encourage awful mindsets. There's believing in yourself (generally good) and then there's being born perfect and smart and strong, with no effort or failing or mistakes, and having to force the world to acknowledge that you're already totally developed and don't need no man/parents/teachers/other perspectives. I dont like this messaging.
I dont like Disney telling my daughter that she doesn't need to work on herself, and I dont like Disney telling my son that he's a clown, and he may not tell girls when they are wrong because = mansplaining = bad.
The fact that The Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic were able to debate about why disney has been failing on Piers Morgan's show. Really goes to show how much of a legend those two are! 😃
The Drinker really is doing big things
@@thejessegrant Absolutely, I agree. He is really making a difference I believe.
Time and holding the line against cancel culture has allowed these two, to bring the consumer perspective to the mainstream.
Activists have been working to sever the connection between industry and consumer.
This is a welcome first step, but it needs to be maintained and grown so that reason and logic... Not to mention honest opinions of consumers rule what drives industry again.
Legends… yeah 👍 don’t get me wrong, they are absolutely right in their statements, but ever asked yourself why they get that much attention, viewers and fame? Because “hate pays more than love”…
Jessie here on the other hand was nothing but constructive critical of both form and substance, of art, cinematography, storytelling etc…. 😢 Yet the legend is Drinker because he enrages the “modern audiences”
Or becoming mainstream useful puppets
Diversity is not the problem in a movie. Diversity AS THE STORY is the problem with “diverse” movies.
Yes, it's not the fact that movies include diversity and inclusion that's the issue, it's the fact that the writers don't focus on anything else but that.
Diversity can be a problem when you go too far with it.
Perversion and depravity don't need representation.
EXACTLY
Well, the same people pushing for "diversity" are the same people that harp on about "racism," constantly. They say it's bad to treat someone a specific way or give them certain things because of their race, except whites of course, but will push for people of specific skin colors to be in certain things and be given certain things simply because of that skin color. Once you realize that these people's ideology is nothing more than a hilarious set of contradictions, then it makes it much easier to deal with them. They are not good people, 9 times out of ten.
Very well summarised 👏🏻
Critical Drinker is a genuinely smart man that can make these points without resorting to catch phrases. It should have been 3 Disney reps against him.
To be fair, Disney seems familiar with these critics. They probably only wanted to get one Disney representative embarrassed rather than multiple.
Ahahaha
Anyone who represented Disney would have exactly the same talking points, perspective and ideology. More than one Disney rep would be just two drones repeating the same script.
@@Kahnovitch which really is a reflection of their talent diversity and professional capabilities right now
@@BBBrasil Well, it has nothing to do with capabilities, given the fact that they'd force them to work off of the same script, as opposed to Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic who can actually form and voice their own thoughts and opinions.
Ernest is a perfect "spokesperson" for Disney...Gay, untalented and defensive. He's a microcosm of Disney.
Buying a ticket to any Disney put money in that idiots pocket. How can any normal person do that?
You destroyed your own point by putting "gay" in there. There's nothing wrong with being gay or any other member of the LGBTQ+ community. Sir Ian McKellan who plays Gandalf in LOTR and the Hobbit Trilogy is one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood, and he's gay. Is he untalented and defensive? If you've seen him talk about his homosexuality you'll know the answer is "no."
Stay in your lane about the LGBTQ+ community, Vagolfer.
@@TWDub Based. I agree with critical drinker on everything abt forced diversity espescially in folklore and historical films but theres alot of right wing bigots in the same room as CD.
@@TWDubto counter your argument, Ian wasn't hired because he was gay, while Ernest most likely was hired because he was gay
Is Being Gay supposed to be a bad thing now??
Your point is already moot
So, during this debate, the first strategy of the Disney spokesperson is to throw-down the Race Card? Brilliant.
Were you expecting any other way?
@@stormcutter59 damn 😂
@@stormcutter59true 😅 it’s like their whole marketing strategy
Of course. At this point if they send out a diverse person I assume they're like the sacrificial lamb bringing bad news and then if you don't like the news yes you must not like that person because reasons. It's very transparent.
Good to show which side they lean.
"To the left to the left"
How ironic that he has a book titled "The case for cancel culture" behind him because I personally have canceled Disney!
Ahahahahaha
@timdavis6913 Even more that he wrote the book himself, and has it there to promote it. Hey Karma, if you're out there...
He is also clearly gay.
This Ernest guy is way out of his depth. He's saying the same mainstream talking points that have been getting shot down for years.
Probably no coincidence that his posture and mannerisms remind me of a ventriloquist's dummy.
@@BarefootPeasant So he has a parrot up his ass.
Nothing earnest about his arguments! Budum tss...
And his expressions were so rude 😅 always rolling his eyes 🙊
He is black. He is entitled. He is paid to be a black racist and a groomer.
It's not about being racist It's about good storytelling and passion.
Funny how they nitpick the little surface details, but completely miss the heart of it.
They named the rigged rules of what is racist to begin with. Its called setting up someone to fail and so it was never been about the thing they claim it to be, its about beating you with guilt and gaslighting you. Its another way to bully someone. It only works if you consider it legit and take it seriously
Literally. Thor 1 did alright in the box office but I thought 3 did far better than both 1 and 2. Until 4. Then there’s dune 2. Blew the pants off the first one by a long shot, both in story and box office, and it shows. The difference between these is good, engaging story telling, rather than bs politics.
This Disney representative really had a condescending attitude. His scoffing reactions are a thorn in my sight.
"side"
And of course, he is likely geh too, judging by his voice!
Back in the 80's, Coca-Cola made New Coke, and it was a failure, so the company admitted its mistake and went back to the old recipe. Disney isn't willing to admit they've gone astray. They think they can shame people into buying their New Coke even though people don't like it. Won't work.
He's a Bob Iger Yes Man
@@The_Valiant_Thorthanks, english isn't my first language. I had no idea it was side.
It is funny because right after this happens Disney announces a female led Silver Surfer Fantastic Four movie. Another massive flop.
Put a female in the lead & make her gay!!!
At least it's not a bait and switch this time ^^.
i mean female in silver spandex... im not complaining
@@KKarama1 The last silver surfer movie was so boring and it even had Jessica Alba and she couldn't save it. Fantastic Bore more like see what I did there.
This genuinely makes no sense.
The Fantastic Four movies fucking SUCK. Why, after revisiting the franchise, would they make such a needless & controversial change?
Disney has had enough to say in the passed 10 years we know their thought process, their stance, and how they groom children.
This "Disney" rep literally is advertising a book titled "The Case For Cancel Culture" 🤦🏻♂️
Hard to take anything he has to say as genuine and insightful.
Disney is trying to sell New Coke and is unwilling to go back to the original recipe. Imagine the Coca-Cola company in the 80's trying to shame their customers into buying a product they don't like instead of going back to what was popular? That would have been a disaster, but that does seem to be Disney's business strategy.
Cause it's not about entertainment. It is the deliberate and controlled demolition of our collective escapism.
coke has always been trash anyway. stop drinking high fructose corn syrup poison and ultra processed garbage. eat healthy, work out, fight leftoids, activists and corpos
So much this. Back then, companies handled a failure such as new Coca-Cola by addressing the issue quickly and decisively.
I was once a salesman at a department store and the company promoted this thing above all else......Customer Service......even to the point that the store would take back merch that had been used thoroughly for years....and refund the money. It wasn't something that happened often, but it created a fiercely loyal base of shoppers and great word of mouth.
Coca Cola knew what they were doing though. Relaunch Coke as Classic Coke to boost flagging sales.
This is huge, the fact that even Morgan identifies that Disney is dog ass on a LIVE WIDELY-VIEWED piece of media. We went from youtubers broadcasting to a youtube audience to a WORLD WIDE audience.
But will this open Disney's eyes??
I'll bet both my nuts that no, it wont.
I would bet your nuts on it too.
NAHHHHH
If they do end up opening their eyes, (Which I doubt) I'm taking both those nuts
Yeah I think you get to keep your nuts too
The stockholders - who are sick of losing money - will force Disney's eyes open.
So Disney put forward a clearly gay individual, who rolls his f eyes when others talk?
And I'm 3 mins in ...
Fr that dude was a joke
They must have thought him being black and gay would nullify all criticism outside Disney like it does inside.
He even looks gay. It’s just so odd that that you can just tell before he speaks.
A German Punk Band made a Song which put it best, which translates to : Even disabled black Lesbians can be a-holes.
As always, its the story. The orginal Star Trek used spray painted coffie cup lids as part of their set dressing. But its the stories that keep people watching after 50 years.
You only have to look at some of the fight choreography in the original STAR TREK (especially the one where Kirk fought a monster in the desert 😅).
@@insertnamehere5809 Yeah, the legendary Gorn fight. It looks like absolute garbage today, but the story itself holds up better than anything in the She-Hulk show.
@@insertnamehere5809 I love that scene. It's a famous park in Cally Wally now you can pay the man in the lizard costume for what they call a "Hot Carl" and it's only $5.
The same with Classic Doctor Who. The original show was made on a shoe string budget with at times laughably bad special effects and sets, yet built a die hard loyal fan base because of the writing and characters.
They sent in a catty gay black man? So disney
The studios have to have budgets that high because there is no other way they can cover up their money laundering schemes without it.
WE ARE NOT HERE BECAUSE OF SHE-HULK! She is simply the face of your failure, Disney.

When you are sycophantic towards 10% of the population, how do you expect your "message" to be universally identifiable? When a film has so little you can relate to, the perpetual proselytizing turns it into two hours of Charlie Brown's parents talking to you - "Wa wa...,wa wa wa."
EXACTLY
You are being a bit too kind on that percentage... 10% is hella high, it's more like they are hyper focused on 0.01% of the USA population and 0.0001% of the world population.
She Hulk had flaws in the comics, luckily a superhero and lawyer, but unlucky in love.
At one time, she was an alcoholic.
That said, Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic are the new Siskel and Ebert.
Thanks guys. We need you, and you Jesse Grant.
she also had a reputation for being a bit of a sl*t (sk*nk, easy or whatever you wanna call it).
A well known British Director once confided in me that when he went looking for financial backing, he crunched the numbers and asked for a reasonable sum of money from backers. The backers wouldn't give him the time of day. When he inflated it 10x times, only then they would talk to him. Madness. And this is reason why you don't get 10x $10M films, but instead 1x $100M film.
Christopher Nolan?
Gareth Edwards, who went to my Art College.
The Disney apologist having a book deliberately turned-out cover first on their bookshelf called "The Case for Cancel Culture" tells you everything about them.
I think that their “Disney Representative” has been seen when he “debated” on the Netflix “Cleopatra documentary” against an Egyptian/expert in archeology for his own culture.
He wrote the book behind him (not advertising, I’m sure..🙄)
He’s the weakest person to make an argument about anything. But he’s a real representation of Disney’s state of mind XD
I do have to pre watch Disney films before showing them to my kids.
It's not just "woke" or whatever. They also encourage awful mindsets. I watched The Critical Drinker talking to Piers Morgan.
He was the most respectful of the bunch
If they were good stories there wouldn’t be fatigue. No one has ever stated “
There too many great stories”
I did in the 1990s. I wanted to see every good movie but it was literally impossible because so many good movies came out so fast.
Guys, this Disney representative has a book PROMINENTLY displayed behind him that says "The Case for Cancel Culture."
That is all you need to know about that guy, and Disney.
The Disney bloke rolling his eyes, speaks volumes about his character!
This analysis is inadvertently touching on Critical Drinker's biggest problem: he refuses to attribute the failure of modern media directly to leftism. His implication is always that there's a correct way to propagandize the audience; if leftist activists were only more clever, more subtle, and more capable, then he would take no issue with their messaging. In reality, it is the leftist worldview itself that is directly at odds with quality storytelling. Feminism has given us the girl boss characters who shatter our suspension of disbelief and flatten our character arcs. Critical Theory brought us the anti-Western values of moral relativism, which has manifested as widespread subversion in media. Racial identity politics have injected tokenism and strife everywhere you look. These TH-cam critics continue to characterize the decline of entertainment media as predictable product of incompetence, but that's simply not the case. Leftist ideology is fundamentally incompatible with quality narrative design. The sooner people realize this, the sooner we can go about fixing it.
While I agree, they probably couldn't say "Leftist Ideology." In a video without getting canceled by Twitter
Imagine hiring someone with “The Case for Cancel Culture” prominently displayed in their office to represent you in the press.
Plot twist: That guy never worked for Disney. He was just some random dude they got off the street.
That Ernest is way out of it. Its clear hes so deluded in his woke mind.
By the looks of things, the possibility of being a "useful idiot" has clearly never occurred to him.
Disney used to stand for quality and fantasy and amazing adventures. Then something dark infested them....
Now they're a shell of their former good wholesome self.
For me, this represents a huge shift in media, top to bottom communication being replaced by peer2peer communication. Out with the mainstream, in with the indie. Proud of these guys for sticking to their guns even if I don't agree with everything they say.
It's nice (to me) to see one of the faces of evil....one of the demons that work behind the scenes at Disney.
Lol - dudes hand the disney guy the bullet point list of things to fix to get their content watchable again and he just sits there rolling his eyes like a defiant child.
Jesse Grant often simplifies the issues. He says: "Diversity doesn´t make a film bad or good it´s the quality of the story that matters." Yes but if an actor is chosen merely because she is a woman or black then the quality of the acting probably isn´t as good as it could have been. And it´s the same for the writers, the directors, and so on. So when diversity is your main goal and you have a good story the result is probably shitty.
Yes, I agree, but he's not wrong either--the RESULTS of the diversity are the problem, not the diversity. You can't ignore the cause, no, but you also can't ignore the consequences either, or else you actually come across like you just don't want gay people in media or whatever.
It's really simple just chose the best actors, writers and directors no mather of their gender, race and sexuality.
Meritocracy culture has been a winning concept since stone age.
Mad props for CRIT DRINKER and NERDDROTIC!! It really shows how far they’ve gone by being in Piers Morgan’s show!!
And yeah, THERE 100% RIGHT!! Disney has become a woke puppet that’s destroying themselves in their madness!
It's "their" not "there" lol. Also, no one who matters actually cares about YT rage click videos like these two clowns. Hence why they appear with the likes of Morgan.
Seeing CDs eyes after years of sunglasses is…unsettling
But, but, Black Panther! Same old shyt.
Everything woke turns to The Last Jedi. KK should have been fired immediately. It just goes to show how little a typical CEO/Exec knows about anything.
Disney has no comeback as profits, subs and audiences all show the facts. Mr Disney Diversity sits there rolling his eyes and grimacing at every point. He is a Disney idealogue typical of the Disney corp.
Disney execs basically sent a human sacrifice out there so they could shrug off it off, say it's not an inportant interview, and not have anyone with a recognizable name get owned in a way people will make a bigger deal about it.
They very likely know that their views and approach simply don't hold up to scrutiny
The guy from Disney gave just the kind of brain-dead excuse that we could expect 🙄
If its got a Disney tag...im not watching
They killed Star Wars, thats some feat.
I like that the Disney rep had a book called the case for cancel culture behind him. What a joke
Idk understand what there is to even debate about. Whats upsetting is seeing disney trying to deflect instead of taking accountability for bad storytelling but of course disney wont
I wish more people understood the difference between "film critic" and "person who complains about kid's movies for a living"
Love that these guys get to reach out to the rest of the world, beyond YT that is.
100%
Identity Criteria vs Competency Criteria is something I have been considering. If the movie business is focused in Identity Criteria then they cannot focus on Competency Criteria. Two completely separate tracks of focus. Cannot serve two masters and all that kind of stuff.
I remember being exited for she hulk show, liked her in comics and animated shows Hulk, Avengers even spiderman then they make woke trash far from the literal strong female character she once was
Maybe if they stopped making vehicles for politics & telling everyone who doesn't like it to pound sand, maybe Disney would finally make a profit
Walt disney will be turning in his grave, cuz of wat those fools have done to his company.
Its shamefull.
We all loved disney stuff as kids.
But it got to corporate and too political for its own good.
Shouda stayed in its lane!!
I’d say that bad CGI hasn’t added to movies being bad, it just shows that the workers aren’t being treated well.
they handled themselves very well. They are the new the leaders of new media on youtube right now.
they are trying to thread the moving target needle of DEI algorithms and it's ends up like the diversity video at work
Into the spider verse is, theoretically, the most diverse marvel product to ever come out bcs theres not only multiple spidermen, but they all also could bebdifferent skin colors, different races, and different religions. But again, the story was the main point of it, which made it successful
So it's so weird how they keep failing when there's multiple bases for them to go off from
What I've noticed with Piers is he tends to invite a larger number of people he figures "agree" with him than oppose him onto the show.
They just need to get the gay shit and over Powered girls out the movies, stay as true as possible to the comics.
They'll never do that.
How else would they get the funding from BlackRock to keep up with their $30 bajillion budgets?
Clearly that Disney guy is clueless about what's going on. No surprise, competent staff all left Disney.
I enjoy the Critical Drinker and I used to enjoy Nerdrotic. Most importantly I really enjoy your insight. Good job pointing out their good points as well as your own.
Thank you! I try to be as fair and honest as possible! No political side just on the side of good movies
@@thejessegrant yes, and that’s how it should be. Keep it up.
The guy for Disney has a hopeless case of the woke mind virus.
There wouldn't be superhero fatigue with great stories. Inconsistent characters, plot holes and bad writing is just frustrating to deal with.
The disney guy was the only one trying to sneak a promo of his book during his interview by putting it fact up. No-one else in the interview was trying to promo their stuff
Why do the movies have to be so frigging long? There are so many movies that you spend more time looking at your watch than the screen.
They should invite you into their's podcast
I thank disney for curing me of caring about superheroes. It was time due to age anyway.
The Disney simp has the book "The Case for Cancel Culture" on full display. Opinion discarded.
These 2 are the real heroes...
I feel like that Disney guy wasn't wearing pants and had a S&M harness on under the desk for that whole interview.
Another thing to add to Disney's downfall is they lack a moral compass. The protagonists are the villains in the story and thats why people root for villains now.
They threw the “gay” black guy out there to die on that hill. Double minority, double jeopardy.
Black Panther is the perfect example. The first was so good and the 2nd was “mehhh”
Independence Day cost $75m to make in 1996, that’s just under $150m in today’s money, budgets are way out of hand nowadays. The people in control of the budgets are not doing their jobs correctly
What is you did not mention is that diverse films often feature misandry and humiliation of males.
Has a 2018, men bought 84% of movie tickets and they are the majority of the audience in many film genres.
Making a film that's not made for men and features hatred and humiliation of men as well as betrayal of men as dislikeable and incompetent is a great way to lose the male portion of your audience.
Even saying the movie wasn't made for the male gaze in a magazine article in June before the movie was released, Birds of Prey still had a 54% male audience. And the director still complained that not enough men came to see it instead of asking why more women didn't go to see it.
they sent the black gay man and prob the only one they had that could put two sensible words together...
The Disney rep reminds me of a black Otho(Beetlejuice)
Super hero fatigue is an excuse for bringing modern politics to a BILLION dollar franchise. They knocked out their heavy hitters, which is fine...if you replace them with stories and a new developing cannon that nods to the comic book nerds but creates a great succession of Marvel adventures.
Nope, Disney made a stand on their movie themes and they're not learning the lessons of other major franchises that owned their mistakes and corrected course.
So, Jesse, when are you gonna ask to join Will or Gary's podcasts?
great video...on point...Disney please take not and change.....
Look at the 'Disney Rep's book case- a book called "the Case For Cancel Culture' deliberately displayed very prominently
Anybody noticed the book in the background "The Case for Cancel Culture"?...😀
Its been clear for a long time that these (stories) never been about the charachter at all. Its all about the revenge on popular franchises dissguised as equaliy presented as beloved fandom.
They made the literal audience watching the show the villian of the show.
disney is done... move on
I can't see how the "Representative from Disney" can defend the indefensible? Disney is continuing to bleed money on worthless projects, yet still blames the Critics and the Movie-Going Public for the crap (putting it very politely) that they're pumping out. Right now, I'm willing to bet that Walt Disney is spinning in his grave.
It's so weird hearing him sound so coherent and not acting drunk for a video. I genuinely might not have recognized his voice.
It's hard to fight using great logic, like Critical Drinker's opening statements, when the opposition stubbornly believes that their woke centric writing is good writing.
I didn't like black panther. i think people just say it was good because it is politically correct. It wasn't as woke as later films but i just found it boring, unbelievable and with bad cgi. I didn't even finish the film because i was so bored.
Awesome some actual reasonable voices given a megaphone
Disney will change nothing. They've already hired an actress to play Silver Surfer. A female Silver Surfer exists, but that's not the issue. Because of how female characters are presented in the MCU recently, you just know this will be woke, preachy, and unwatachable.
When I watched the cast, I was choked with laughter! Why, you say? The Disney person, every time any of the other 3, said anything, he would roll his eyes, like some 12 year old child tired of hearing Mom say to eat your vegetables! AND as a bonus, at the end of the cast, 3 of 4 say 'goodbye's' and 'thank you's' ... the Disney guy shoves his book into the camera! That says it all ....
I don’t understand why it’s so hard for Disney grasp the concept that we want well written, well made movies, tv shows and games that entertains us. We just want a good and entertaining story to let us forget reality for awhile.
I'm 64 years old. Since I was in high school, TV "debates" have consisted of three liberals vs. one conservative, with the "impartial" host helping out the libs whenever they stumbled and cutting off the conservative whenever he made a great point. So the complaint that Morgan didn't have equal representation is at best to me a "so what?" BTW, the Disney guy's argument that a movie where you don't pick characters and writers to fit tick off boxes would result in all white men is ridiculous. How about picking people to write and act in a movie based on talent, experience, knowledge of the subject matter, and how well they fit the part? That would be the opposite of what he's advocating.
