How do you set the camera to work so it only comes on when the sensors are triggered? What settings do I use on the app?

That is the default setting, they always work, you can just set how sensitive they are.

problem with rats?, Ralph not earning his keep? lol, foxes around here love rats, so much they ate them all
maybe the company should have the initial first image on stills at a much faster rate, esp if its being used for birds, they dont always hand around for a second shot

To be fair Ralph is a pretty useless ratter, but he did get one or two recently as there are so many!
I know exactly what you are saying but I don't think the sensor is capable of a faster speed.
