Sorry for the random rant, but... Yeah, don't know how they did it but they choose their trainee/artists well. The first thing that stood out after I dive into Woollim groups is the vocals of each members in a group is distinctly different. Even with their biggest group Golcha with 10 members, I can easily distinguish the voices and personally I think the dynamic of the different vocals lend to the enjoyment unique to woollim artists song. Second is how they don't have bad songs. I hope if you have time, you can check Drippin's 2 mini albums and single album, all of the songs are good. No bad song at all. It's also funny that no matter how good their title track is, there is always a side track that stand out more within the fandom (I at least notice this with Golcha. Drippin - 'Reach out your hand' is one, too). For this comeback, aside from Villain I love Switch. Remember is also another stand out b-side for me.
as a dreamin (Drippin’s fandom) it’s definitely a complete change from their previous title track free pass, which was more of a fun-summer colourful concept. I will say that this MV is a cut above all their other MVs. if you liked this I suggest checking out their latest MV Vertigo (which isn’t an official comeback but a Universe app music release).

Besides title songs, i strongly recommend REACH OUT YOUR HANDS and DELUSION, these are masterpieces😭 And Junho-the visual, center, lead vocal also ex X1 member surely gets a lot screen time in villain. This is his first time as the main character of music video, and I’m so surprised by his expressions. He did well just like Dongyun and Hyeop before! DRIPPIN so talented!!
Despite the music video being mostly skewed to Junho, the rest of the members stand out really well when it comes to the actual performance and the song itself. Hyeop and Chang Uk did amazing vocally on this track and I'm very pleased with the end product.

“This guy again” is Cha Junho who was part of X1 xD And I strongly recommend one of their b-sides “Delusion”. My sister and I strongly believe it’s a title song worthy sidetrack~ I like how you brought up the Joker because I believe Alex does the bg sound where he says “why so serious” Thank you for this reaction! I'm so happy to see you reacting to Drippin! This MV is definitely my favorite of theirs, I was surprised with how large the budget here is, but Woollim as a company have gone through some personal changes and I'm hoping this is a good sign for all of their groups. Song-wise, I'm really liking this as well, driving baseline is a thing that works on me and the way I perceive music so well it's almost a guaranteed hit with me and as you've mentioned, their voices are really outstanding. Woollim just knows how to pick their people, from Infinite all through Drippin, they always nailed it. Overall the album is pretty great and feels very rounded up, I've been looping it for a while and so far found no song I'd skip, which is rare for me. The member catching your eye the most is Cha Junho. He was in X1, so you might have seen him even before Drippin. Who I'm personally very fond of is Alex ( 2:58 ). Comebacks you have missed are Young Blood (song wise my favorite) and Free Pass (free serotonin), as well as their universe single Vertigo which might just be their best release alltogether? I'd love to see your reaction to those if you'll feel up to it. I'm really hoping Drippin will find their niche and gain the traction they deserve. The members are so great, as an older kpop fan I jokingly call them my adopted sons.

Drippin is still searching for their own colour i think. they tried every concept like cool, dark and fresh. Woollim produces different colour for every groups and actually Golden Child also tried much fresh until Wannabe. it's a good try on deep dark concept like this. The budget of this Mv is really high!! Their visual is no joke and the choreography also is dude. Hope they will be regconised by public more soon. I really agree when you mentioned how Woollim songs aren't exceptionally novel (maybe with the exception of a few like BLSSD tracks imo--Infinite's Bad and 태풍 and Golcha's Wannabe, Without You, and One (Lucid Dream)). They can be formulaic even, but they don't fall flat or boring. I don't know what black magic their A&R has, because they can make songs follow the "Woollim genre" yet stand out and be different. (I hope that makes sense. 😂) I think that's why I'm so drawn to Woollim groups in general. Their artists' music fits my taste perfectly. While DRIPPIN has a solid discography, Reach Out Your Hand is a definite fandom favorite and with good reason. 😂 In addition, I personally love Stay from their 1st single album Free Pass. I love how dreamy and nostalgic it is! Definitely my personal recommendation. 💖

I agree. The screen time looks not even but I ain't mad. There's a prologue videos before this that kinda explained more about the concept. The song is so "woollim", it's nothing experimental but they give more finesse in the execution so it sounds great.

Young blood made me stan them because it was elegant, 4th gen-ish yet so infinite-ish. If that makes any sense. Drippin has that infinite/woolim nostalgic sound which I really like. Free pass was cute. I absolutely loved it. It was soft yet had that nostalgic feels

The producer is not from woollim both mv and the music so it gives off different vibes than what they've been doing. Young Blood is really a good song. When I heard the teaser of villain, I thought that villain will be repetitive melody but the MV was out and it makes the song different cause they're make the MV really cool. But still I love Drippin's discography

Woolim music is very characteristic and I like it. It sounds a little average but if we are to compare dripping with other 4th gens they're actually doing something more ''traditional'' comparing with 3rd gen, but comparing with 4th they're going in the opposite direction Rap and vocal partes very well defined, very melodic, showing off their vocals and some melody. I like it. These days I can't take heavy rap ish trying to sound hardcore 4th gens bgs. Im glad i have drippin to balance it.

I wasn't into kpop during infinite's era, golcha is nice but none of their songs made me stan them although I'm familiar with members and all. Woollim is the type of company which goes for nostalgic sounds. I'm not sure about their girl groups, but all of their boy groups go towards this direction - which is, in my opinion, impressive. Because I do agree that even if a song sounds familiar, it's not a bad thing because they can pull it off whereas non-Woollim groups may not be able to do the same.

One of the first things he said about the video is all those *MANY* times one of the members was filmed ( which I also complained/ noticed myself about) when there're more members and some of them only appeared twice :( I think it makes it harder for new potential fans to have a look on them if they don't properly show all the members

The producer is not from woollim both mv and the music so it gives off different vibes than what they've been doing. Their official comeback before this was Free Pass where they still look innocent and just sweet so this Villain comeback is a major change for them.

Young Blood is really a good song. When I heard the teaser of villain, I thought that villain will be repetitive melody but the MV was out and it makes the song different cause they're make the MV really cool. But still I love Drippin's discography

Woolim music is very characteristic and I like it. It sounds a little average but if we are to compare dripping with other 4th gens they're actually doing something more ''traditional'' comparing with 3rd gen, but comparing with 4th they're going in the opposite direction
Rap and vocal partes very well defined, very melodic, showing off their vocals and some melody.
I like it.
These days I can't take heavy rap ish trying to sound hardcore 4th gens bgs.

I wasn't into kpop during infinite's era, golcha is nice but none of their songs made me stan them although I'm familiar with members and all. I like the familiarity that drippin delivers through music. I like their "safe" sound.

Woollim is the type of company which goes for nostalgic sounds. I'm not sure about their girl groups, but all of their boy groups go towards this direction - which is, in my opinion, impressive. Because I do agree that even if a song sounds familiar, it's not a bad thing because they can pull it off whereas non-Woollim groups may not be able to do the same.

One of the first things he said about the video is all those *MANY* times one of the members was filmed ( which I also complained/ noticed myself about) when there're more members and some of them only appeared twice :( I think it makes it harder for new potential fans to have a look on them if they don't properly show all the members

I was kinda disappointed with the song because their other songs are SO GOOD. The song is a bit bland and repetitious. But everything else was amazing, overall this mini album is average compared to their previous discography
