I've been hoping for a good way of creating a cutscense in unity and with the timeline editor and cinemachine I have everything I want. Thank you for the video, this helps a lot!
There's no shame to that !! Be thankful for all the material he provided all these years for free. He did great and we are all happy to be a part of his wonderful journey.
Great job illustrating how quickly one can get results with Timeline and Cinemachine. Of all the new features in Unity 2017, those two were far and away the biggest news for me.
This is a great intro tutorial Brackeys thanks a lot... I remember skimming a video from Blackbird Interactive (the creators of Cinemachine) as they explained how they used it for Homeworld: Desers of Kharak, and that showcased a lot of the interesting features. But that procedural camera transition feature... holy heck! *chef kiss*
OMG this is soooo awwesomeee Brackeys! Im sure there is a whole lot more to do but this introduces me to Cinemachine in a beautiful and exciting way! Thanks!
You're just scratching the surface of what Cinemachine can do... There's so much more to it. Like the ability to switch cameras based on the current state of an Animator controller. Dolly track and dolly cart (for camera on rails situations). Cinemachine collider to keep the camera out of objects. Freeshot to let Cinemachine decide which camera to activate from a bunch depending on which has the better shot. Group composer to aim at group of objects. Freelook camera. Orbiting camera. Now a first person camera and Cinemachine for 2D. Etc. I know it's an intro but I don't want new users to think that's it...
@@edmondeyeemceeezekiels9158 All the current videos will remain uploaded, including all the resources on his website, etc. Just no more content is being made and released anymore as he's taking a step back from game dev for a while, as he thinks its time to move on now
Any chance we can get a Cinemachine first person setup tutorial? I think that knowing how to implement a Cinemachine first person camera that can switch to other views would be VERY useful (i.e. switching from first person to third person cameras). Great videos as always. Thank you.
There are no tutorials on how to use the state driven camera for 2D anywhere online :( I tried to use it but it doesn't change the perspectives depending on the animations as it should, which is the whole point
Brackeys, could you try doing a series on creating a "Run and Gun" game please? I can't find any good tutorials on making one, and I have a great idea for one. Mega Man and Cuphead are two good examples of Run and Gun games. Thanks Asbjørn.
i am facing this annoying problem whenever i have to resize an object the texture on it gets distorted this also means i have to assign a ton of materials (that use same texture) to each object
Wow, the big boss is here! Great job with Cinemachine :) Love the new features. I'm currently mostly working in VR, but I'm planning a non-VR project just so that I can use Cinemachine, lol. Thanks a lot for the hard work!
Brackeys Could we get more videos on time manipulation. How about something like a time dilation sphere. Where we can place a forcefield like thing down and objects that enter it get slowed.
hmm.. so you control it with the timeline. How would you make that transition between virtual cameras conditional then, so that it would happen when you need it?
You should make some more videos about AI and Controls (I mean all the controls with an full model like the one in this video and animation) because I had a lot of problems until I made and FPS player to hold the weapon right
Hi Brackeys thanks for the brilliant tutorial! How did you rotate the virtual camera without first selecting the rotate tool @ position 1:11? I noticed you were able to do it whilst still having the position tool selected
Hey, Really cool video!!! Could you make a tutorial about a coin system in 3d? That would be very helpful, or at least where can I learn how to do it. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for this tutorial ! Do you plan to make another one for dolly cam, post process etc ?
You said that we can use these features even for games and then proceded to use timeline and animations. It can get incredibly messy if you try to use animations for controlling in-game objects. Can I somehow achieve the camera blending through scripts? Thanks.
I've been hoping for a good way of creating a cutscense in unity and with the timeline editor and cinemachine I have everything I want. Thank you for the video, this helps a lot!
.
You could also you the animator to make the camera move on a timeline instead of cinemachine
Brackey's helping people get the most out of the tools available as always. Now we can all make the MGS4 oven hallway scene! Exciting!
except it is all over
@@not_herobrine3752 I miss him
Why is this exact same Transposer / Lock to Target with World Up "Body Constraint" also inheriting the hips rotational values in my scene ???
it's a shame that he stopped working on this channel, May he achieve the best.. :)

This video does not deserve dislikes. Great job Brackeys
5 years now, I miss this channel
this gonna solve all of those "how do i make my camera follow my character" problems
@Israel Bettle This would be more believable if both of your names didn't start with the same word.

This + invector templates = MADFAKING GOD
Now I have everything to make an animated short movie in Unity
Wow, i wish this existed when I was working on cutscenes a couple years ago! xD
That timeline thing is great for cutscenes not so much if you want to change between those virtual cameras in a script.
Great tutorial to get into this topic. Waited for such a tutorial. Thanks!
