Jim, it's hard for me to contain the exhilaration this ride gave me. The old school classics and the scenery was amazing!! the visual affects are superb, the pause and color change pulled in my attention even more. Thanks for the ride!!!!
About 12 years ago, I was on a bus going from the Port of Miami to Fort Lauderdale International Airport, and we used the express lanes across the Golden Glades Interchange, and yes, it's very impressive from that perspective.
Great Video, Jim! I really like the longer videos! I hear that before I-95 was opened, people had to use U.S. Route 1, and I bet it is not that fun of a ride. Thank you so much for the videos, and keep up the great work! :)
That was fun getting to see the first 71 miles of I-95. Loved all the tracks. I guess I-95 in South Florida is your I-10 freeway in SoCal, Phoenix, and Houston.
Jason Williams you can see how I-10 looks a little like I-95 in SoCal in Freewayjim's videos. Also I-10 in Phoenix is really built up in with the urban sprawl with the scenery and traffic. In Houston you have the Katy Freeway. Urban freeways are built up differently in different states. That is how they built I-95 as an urban freeway in Florida. There is also much more traffic on other days I. South Florida on I-95. I drove on that stretch on a Wednesday. A lot of traffic on that freeway.
Great video. I am a Metro Dade native and loooove I 95..I think the drive is fun. The 595 and it's connections to I 75 and then I 95 are Excellent. Thank you for the video..BD
I will always admire that country's highway system (interstate) and wish my country have something like that, although we are too small, we need controlled access highways to push development to every corner of our country
I'm spending my evening rewatching all of your SoFlo videos to reminisce on my Orange Bowl trip last week. I have to say, your videos were a good appetizer for my trip, but seeing Miami in person is mindblowing. Seems almost like a video game looking at those high rises at night, we definitely don't have anything like that in Tennessee! Thank you for creating these videos. I've been a regular watcher and subscriber since 2013 and I've enjoyed all of it.
Kaydrah ... That entire drive IS FLAT. Those 'rolling hills" are just the freeway curving left and right and passing over and under streets along the way. If you travel up US 1 north of West Palm Beach there are a few hills which are likely old "dunes" formed by the ocean thousands of years ago. The tallest are 35-40 feet above sea level. The level land is from about 12 -15 feet above sea level.
Yes, really flat. But if you go to the west and northwest sides of Orlando, there's some surprisingly hilly terrrain, especially between Orlando and Leesburg. But not in the Miami metro area.
As others have said, Miami is flat, so those little hills are the expressway going up and down streets. Orlando's got a few hilly parts, but for the most part, Florida has few hills, although sometimes in Downtown areas and in malls, they'll make artificial hills by digging up sand and making hills.
Henry Rieken I thought the same thing when I was about to click on this video I would it bet money I could it have won who else could he put in the background for a Miami video.🤣🤣
Nice job Jim and these first 71 miles of I-95 in Miami,FL resemble the Bronx,NY to New Haven Corridor further up on I-95 due to heavy urban settings with parallel commuter rail lines or Amtrak
Freewayjim You're welcome Jim and for the first song I actually have the Anna Kendrick cover version from Pitch Perfect which will work on I-95 around Portland,ME since one of the group members from the Canadian Maritime provinces used Cups in one of their Portland,ME videos another option would be a country music song by Cassadee Pope since she's from West Palm Beach-Miami area
Cool video. You can see some of the construction of phase 3 of the 95 express lanes. They will eventually extend all the way to near the Palm Beach county line.
So great I can do an "Instant replay" on this video!! Dan Hartman also wrote "I Can Dream about You" which was used in Streets of Fire. He left us too soon.
A bit unrelated: but next weekend, I’ll be going to SAINT (St.) AUGUSTINE NEXT WEEKEND! It’s gonna rely of about ~300 miles of driving this road (I-95). I’ll be staying for a day to look around the city. I can’t wait! EDIT: It’s been delayed to somewhere in between August 13 - 14th. Edit AGAIN: It just so happens that August 13-14th WAS the actual date of travel. (So idiotic…) On the plus side, I only have THREE DAYS LEFT OF WAITING!!! Good video Freewayjim btw. All your videos are great!
This video reminds me of the trip I took to West Palm Beach (which, by the way, was the same week this was filmed.) It was also my first time ever in Florida. One more thing to remind me of the fun times I had. Awesome video, Jim.
I took that route from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport to the Commercial Blvd. exit (about 7:21) many times in the era those songs you used were popular because my grandparents condos were located there. The difference now in that area is that the trees have grown to obscure you from seeing the buildings on the side of the road.
Great ride, Jim. I see you found out, again, that people here don't seem to understand that slowpokes don't belong in the left lane. As I expected, you skipped my boring stretch of I-95 to go straight into Jacksonville. I hope the construction there didn't cause you too much trouble.
Actually, Sunday northbound traffic can get heavy due to people who drove to Florida for their vacation having to get home and get ready for work on Monday. Fortunately, it doesn't get as bad as what you discovered can happen on I-15 south out of Las Vegas on a Sunday.
Miami fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach county is mainly metro suburban til you get north past Jupiter then it's all rural grove area. Turnpike stays west of the metro commotion
Interesting to note: If and when I-69 from Indianapolis to Deep South Texas is complete, it will supplant one of the top 5 longest N-S interstates you listed (although 95 would likely still be the longest).
I lived in Miami for 6 years, last time I was there was 2013 and that skyline just keeps getting larger and taller. Too bad besides downtown Miami and Jacksonville there's not much else to see on 95 until Richmond lol
At 12:42 is when you arrived at Lakeworth, the best local city in Palm Beach. And at 13:42 was exit Okeechobee Blvd which leads to Downtown West Palm Beach.
Can someone tell me how Americans build concrete freeways so well because in Australia all the concrete freeways are so bumpy and crack all the time and we usually just use asphalt
Can u tell me. Did u pay for highway while u using the highway ? Like toll both ? Cuz I'm not seen it. In my country (Indonesia) there's a lot of toll both.
There were no toll booths on the road in this video, although the far left lanes are tolled for people who choose to use them (you can see that clearly in the video).
Florida looks nicer than i ever thought. I never saw a miami video. Question.. is this an east coast trip.?(i don't follow every video so idk if you put anything on another video)
Yes it is, just the southeast (see the map at the end of 17-05). Also if you really want to see Miami dusk to dark and at night (these videos came out really nice) I highly recommend videos 17-09 and 17-10.
Keep in mind that what I mentioned above is only for roads in the Interstate system, other freeways are either toll roads or State/US highway projects that are funded by the state or in some cases with toll roads, private entities.
There are several factors with regard to length, tempo, where the breaks in the song, what kind of theme or vibe I'm looking for but in short I'd probably say it's just a "feel" for what might work well.

Truly one of the best driving youtubers out there nice video! 👌
Thank you very much!

Thank you! the Turnpike was opened in the 1950's but yeah US-1 was the main road before I-95 down there.
Love the music selection for this ride, it gives you that vibe that you're in South Florida.
Thank you, that was the idea.
Yes Yes...to the song selections- solamente! I'm loving this front seat ride-along
Thank you, it's too bad the 3rd song was muted by TH-cam :(
@@Freewayjim I'm hearing them all as listed. 3rd is "Get Off"
@@blazenlanie My bad, I got it mixed up with 17-10 from Miami (you might like that one too). th-cam.com/video/FWZjuwJWwzo/w-d-xo.html
Brilliant video, really enjoyed! Greetings from London, UK.
Thank you for watching!
That’s the spirit! I love this freeway, nice job!
Thank you!
That was fun getting to see the first 71 miles of I-95. Loved all the tracks. I guess I-95 in South Florida is your I-10 freeway in SoCal, Phoenix, and Houston.
Thanks, Caleb, that's a pretty good comparison.
Caleb Harper how ???? i 10 in phoenix is built up and waaaayyyyyy more in cali ... never seen houston .... i drive 4 a living so yea i know

Haiti I guess
Sounds like New Zealand
76 miles of uninterrupted urban freeway
Very cool video and music! Nice to see places I haven't been to...yet. Thanks FreewayJim!
Thank you for watching!
As of the publishing date, 20.6 million residents, ten million of which are from the Northeast and New York...Nice work, Jim!
Thank you!

Thank you very much!
You're videos are amazing. Love the music too!
Thank you very much!
Your music selection is always top notch! Editing skills are absolutely insane!
Thank you very much for that!
Now THAT'S an "urban corridor". Those rolling hills surprised me. Guess I'll have to stop using the phrase "Florida flat". 😀 Awesome production, Jim!
Thanks Dan, yeah it does go on for a ways and the area is still growing.
Kaydrah ... That entire drive IS FLAT. Those 'rolling hills" are just the freeway curving left and right and passing over and under streets along the way. The highest elevations in Florida are 345 feet and 312 feet. Both are in the Florida Panhandle.

Haha! What's a Miami freeways video without a little Gloria Estefan? Great choice!
Thank you!
lol interesting

I likely would not film 95 in Maine beyond the first few miles.
Hi Jim! Nice I-95 driving! Keep up the good work
Thank you.
Definitely an Instant Replay My Son and I love this video....
Cool video. You can see some of the construction of phase 3 of the 95 express lanes. They will eventually extend all the way to near the Palm Beach county line.
Thanks, yes and I'm sure they will be welcomed!

Fun soundtrack. I have not been in a car in Miami since 1989. Nice to see it again. Great job on this!
Thank you for watching!
I just realized I never commented on this video which is strange because this is my third time watching...

Instant Replay! That's exactly what I do with your videos! lol What another great stretch of freeway!! :)
Thank you very much!
Great timing Jim for a song by "Foxy"! You're near where Loki The Red Fox Lived when "Get Off" Starts to play.
I took that route from Ft. The difference now in that area is that the trees have grown to obscure you from seeing the buildings on the side of the road.
Awesome road trip!! 👍👍👍
Thank you
Awesome video! Have you made one of entering Miami through Tamiami Trail
Thanks, No I did not.
Thanks for the great ride, Freewayjim!
Thank you
I can tell you had fun making this video. Nice music choices!
You have a great taste of music sir! Well done! Especially the Dan Hartman part! I imagine how hot was that day!
Thank you, it was hot but not crazy hot, I live in Atlanta so I'm used to it.
Great ride, Jim. I see you found out, again, that people here don't seem to understand that slowpokes don't belong in the left lane. As I expected, you skipped my boring stretch of I-95 to go straight into Jacksonville. I hope the construction there didn't cause you too much trouble.

Thank you
One mistake: the metro area is the 7th most populated
May I just ask, where are you initially from (live) and how expensive is driving around America?
Love your vids!
I live in the Atlanta area and I only take one trip a year so it's probably the cost of a typical vacation all things considered.
Yesterday I took I-95 from pompano beach to Fort Lauderdale airport.
Amazing that all 72 miles of that highway looks suburban and has street lights.
I-95 in South Florida is specifically well lit because of the high population of older people.
I saw this video again and I wonder how is this back? The last time I watch that was I guess a year ago just a few weeks before it was taken down.
I've had that happen with a couple other videos, there's no rhyme or reason to it.
Great video!!, could be great driving with Gloria Stefan, Sharon Stone and Stallone (The Specialist Miami`s movie)!!! ;)
Thank you and yes that was a good movie!
Freewayjim, I love your videos. I think I've seen them all.
Awesome, thank you for watching!
I lived in Miami for 6 years, last time I was there was 2013 and that skyline just keeps getting larger and taller. Too bad besides downtown Miami and Jacksonville there's not much else to see on 95 until Richmond lol
Great ride! Caught it Monday, but didn't have a chance to comment. You could've dropped the disco ball and left it there for your entire trip!
LOL! Thanks!

Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County is absolutely the best late at night.
Hope to see that some day.
At 12:42 is when you arrived at Lakeworth, the best local city in Palm Beach. And at 13:42 was exit Okeechobee Blvd which leads to Downtown West Palm Beach.
How did you get this video back after copyright issues?
I didn't do anything, it just came back. This has happened before as copyright polcies for certian songs/artists change without notice.
Awesome video Jim. 10/10
all your videos are great!
Thank you Tim!
Can someone tell me how Americans build concrete freeways so well because in Australia all the concrete freeways are so bumpy and crack all the time and we usually just use asphalt
I'd kind of like the Disco Music you used in the video it was a very good mixture with the day time and heading out of the City of Miami.
Thank you!
what an amazing video. jim you should come back again to Miami
Thanks, maybe I can someday.
Ahh, my home. Going back tomorrow after spending 2 months in the beuatiful country of Mexico
Best traffic video FWJ! Waiting for Turnpike Freeway from West Palm Beach To Downtown Miami!
Thank you (Y)
Thank you! sorry that's it from Miami for a few years at least.
Hermoso recorrido muy buenas autopistas tienen los Estados Unidos.
Roads on 95 in Broward are horrrrrrible! Trying to keep the steering wheel steady while one side of your car is lower than the other is a hassle....
You finally did Miami huh Jim?! 👍
Jim, At the broward exit you passed my mom's workplace
Another awesome video from someone on the northern part of !-95, Well the state anyways :D
Thank you!
Very good Jim... I ' from Brazil
Thank you!
I95 is like a time machine to the 70's all original for the most part
awesome ride, lol moment at 9:36 passing a publix semi truck there it is!!! :0
Thank you!
I like it
The gap in Jersey was filled a year ago.
I like the original version of 17-11 as well.
By the way is your 2021 vids over just saying.
I don't know to be honest.
Do you get any of the beaches in Jacksonville? Do you go to Orlando in this series?
No and no, did not have the time or desire to do either.
Great ride and video! Surprised I didn't hear Miami by Bob Segar though lol. May not fit the rest of the video
Thanks, Bob Seger's music is not safe to use.
Omg i love the first song!
Howcome you're not filming Daytona Beach?
There's nothing there that excites me and I did not have the time anyway.
I moved to Florida about a year after this
Florida looks nicer than i ever thought.
Freewayjim ok I'll see them. thanks.
Jim, did you pay any tolls at Florida?
Yes, many in the five previous videos in Miami and Tampa, my Georgia Peach pass is compatible with the Sun Pass tolls.
My personal curiosity: in the US is the interstate asphalting made by the single state or by the central govern?
The state implements and runs the actual roadbuilding or expansion project but funding is 90% from the federal government, 10% from the state.
Keep in mind that what I mentioned above is only for roads in the Interstate system, other freeways are either toll roads or State/US highway projects that are funded by the state or in some cases with toll roads, private entities.
awesome video
Thank you!
youre welcome:)
Do you love that song Turn the Beat Around
It's ok, I like it but don't love it.
How do you pick out the music for these?
There are several factors with regard to length, tempo, where the breaks in the song, what kind of theme or vibe I'm looking for but in short I'd probably say it's just a "feel" for what might work well.
What part of the vid is he in Deerfield beach?
Roughly 8:35 is where I pass into Deerfield beach.
Very cool!
Thanks
LOVE that truck 9:35
The rivalry continues. Miami is one SMSA market determined by the census bueau while the Tampa-St. Pete-Sarsota metro is divided into 3 SMSA's. This greatly reduce federal funding of highway and other monies. The real market size is researched by the head counters at Nielson and Arbitron who determine media market size. In that market definition Tampa Bay ranks #11 in the nation while Miami comes in at #16. Banana?
Florida’s highways are the best in the US.
THAT WAS MY BIRTHDAY
The golden glades interchange is the biggest waste of space I have ever seen
