Jordan was very much in his Patrick Bateman stage at this point. In the later remotes he's still pretty much the same, but allows himself to smile and break every so often. I love how it's evolved.
I’d never really thought about it, but now that you mention it, if you take away Bateman’s interest in women (good, bad & indifferent), you kind of get a Jordan Schlansky. And I believe Jordan IS married, but I’m not certain that she and he have ever met.
Jordan's philosophy: Never say in one sentence what you can say over a 10 minute period.
He would be a great youtuber

That's how I passed a public speaking class. I could have said everything I wanted to in about 20 seconds, but we had to make it 15 minutes long. I channeled my Schlansky. I'd mention literally anything, then go off on a 4 minute tangent explaining that thing. Great speech in the end; Jordan would have been proud.

Funny how one of the funniest remotes was during a *writers strike.*
The writer's strike shows were the best.Conan being funny without doing dumb unfunny skitches. Writers in these shows are machines to deliver 1 hour of not well-thought bits. That's why the only bits living to this day is conan remotes or great interviews, while there is almost no writer's skitches.Sadly, It's all about producing nothing about the product.
To write a Conan show is to just transcribe what he's already doing. Genius!

Conan really shined during the strike because not only is he one of the most off-the-cuff funniest hosts, but he's also an incredibly talented and intelligent comedy writer.

As a dual citizen (born UK--> US for 20 years now) there are some US born Americans whose passion for European culture is over the top to the point of escapism, and it just comes off the wrong way, and in particular makes me feel strange because I'm not up my own ass about being England-born and quite like America sometimes. It's like wearing real prescription glasses because you need to and meeting someone who wears non prescription because they're a fan of the look.
