POV: you missed your bus home from high school and now you have to wait for the late buses. You get bored and go to the toilets and hear singing, upon entering you see the quiet kid standing at the sinks singing to himself in the echo-y tiled room, pouring lyrics out like the taps he stands in front of.
This is literally me tho when I’m upset I get sent to sit in an empty class room because it helps me collect myself and it’s really echoy like a restroom and i just sing emo songs with my friend when he’s also in there and the amount of times teachers or other students walk in because of curiosity is funny
POV: The rain is pouring down. It's almost as if the heavens weep with you as you walk slowly down the main street of an unfamiliar city. The lights of the neon signs cast a melting glow across the wet street, irradiating the dark shadows of empty buildings. You're dragging your feet as to avoid the inevitable: passing back over the threshold of your own home, which has felt like less and less of a safe haven as time has droned on. Sopping wet, and eyes red, you stop under the next street light to stare straight up at the night sky and filled with imposing, dark, storm clouds. Though the rain has thus far drowned out every sound, you hear a voice. Walking towards it, your stride increasing in length, you hear singing over a microphone. Cautiously continuing forward, you come what seems liken old performance hall. There's no one around, so you push on the door, which, in turn, opens with a creak that makes you wince. You hesitate at first, but begin carefully walking down the unlit corridor, and toward the main room. You lower your hood as you pass through the door, revealing an empty concert hall. The stage lights are the only illumination in the dark building. With a heavy heart, you melt into a chair about 10 rows from the front, covered by the blackness. You cast a glance toward the face of the singer. His face is contorted in aguish, conveying a wave of emotion that seems to echo all the pain you've been carrying. And for a moment...just a moment...the warmth that comes with the knowledge that you are not alone shields you from the world, and for the first time in a long time, you are okay... Feel free to continue the story :) Edit: Thank you so much for everyone letting me know this story has been copied onto 3 different "empty arena" and "cathedral" videos (this one, I Don't Love You, and Cancer), those are actually all me. I thought the story fit all the scenarios, and with all the positive feedback, I hoped more people would be able to read it as they listened. Either way, I seriously appreciate you all defending my work, thank you 🖤
I’m so glad I found this comment again, I found it a couple weeks ago on another video but forgot which one and I really wanted to use it as inspiration for a story (with proper credit of course ❤️) and IM SO FÜCKING EXCITED 🥰
I love this man this song means the world to me I'm waiting for my opretunity to sing in the ecoey bathroom when nobody's at school but my crush hears me
MCR Literally saved me from committing $uicid3 at one of the darkest times in my life. Whenever I'm sad or lonely and have those thoughts I turn back to their music and it soothes me oddly. This probably sounds like angsty teen things but the jokes on you this started when I was 10/11 so hah its an angsty preteen thing 💀
I can imagine gerard and ray screaming to each other facing each other grabbing hands putting every ounce of power in to the song they can then walking away from each other then running back to each other
You find them, sitting alone, in an abandoned building, the farthest from their home. They told their p.o.s. "parents" that they were nonbinary. They were kicked out. You felt their pain from 60 miles away. You came to find them. And now, You Harmonize In a Chorus of Pain.
There is only Gerard's voice here. He sings the main vocals then sings the backing vocals over it. Obviously that can't be done live so that is when Ray sings
I thought the title said ‘Gerard in an empty sewer’ and now I can’t stop picturing him drawing comics while peeping in through a storm drain
Yasmin Benitez that’s on brand for him too 😔
