ever since they released Helena’s MV which was recorded in a cathedral/church and blessed us with house of wolves, the religious trauma has really been a big thing and as a Christian (kinda) that was forced into religion, I relate on a certain level
imagine: You sit on the floor, head resting against the back of a wooden pew. The person you were trecking through the moutains with is begging you to sleep now that you are stuck in an abandoned cathedral due to the storm outside. However, something about this old cathedral in its state of half decay is making you very uneasy. Slowly, they start to hum a familar tune. You become calm enough to sleep. Before they know it, you are thrashing in your sleep. They shake you and beg you over and over to "wake up"
As you walk away from your home in the dead of night, you notice the cathedral, in its dark, gothic beauty. Standing by the altar, you put in your headphones and turn on this song; Screaming the lyrics as if no one can hear you, the sound of the pouring rain complimenting your singing. And, for once, you felt at peace.
Image being the protagonist in a horror movie, it's storming, you go into this empty cathedral for shelter, and just hear this song playing louder and louder with every step you take- Edit: I meant "Harrar" not horror @gerardway'saccent
This, quite literally, sounds like Gerard wandering through the Paramour house in a storm. Singing to the empty air. Trying to shake off the night terrors, but to no avail. Sweet shit, it's perfect.
for anyone wondering what hes saying after the guitar starts: "its like, as if like somebody was gripping my throat and squeezing, and i feel like i'm being choked, and i can't breathe, and i shake, and i convulse, and sometimes when i'm trying to sleep, and i have these waking, uh, dreams"
Thunderstorming outside. I see hanged dead body in the end of long and narrow dark hallway. And hearing echo of devil from hell " sleep.. just sleep...". I start screaming. Cause I feel extream fear and scared in to the deep in my soul. Finally I woke up soaked in cold sweat. But I enjoyed every minutes of it.
Ray usually does the backing vocals, I think he has an even bigger vocal range than gee or is just really good at falsetto. Pretty sure it's Ray here too!

This is what I thought of when I listened to this: You are in a abandoned church that was known for being haunted. While your looking around the lights dim darker and you can hear the doors lock. You hear faint footsteps and you hear somebody start singing this. It starts storming and you run to the door to try to get out but the door won't budge. You start hearing screaming in the background of the singing. You hear footsteps approach you and a hand rest on your shoulder. You quickly turn backwards grabbing a broken vase. You realize nobody was behind you. Continuing trying to open the door, you tug the door handle and it pops off. The music gets louder and louder. You look out the window and realize nothing is there. Its empty, just darkness. You pinch yourself to make sure your not sleeping. Nope 100% awake. You sit down leaning against the door and you close your eyes listening to the singing. You listen closely to see if there were any hints in the lyrics on how to get out. Your realize it is telling you to sleep, You then try to sleep while listening to the piercing screams 3:43. There is an awful smell, that smells as bad as a dead body so you try not to overthink it. You fall asleep. You then see a about 5'9 person with very white short hair. You realize that person is who is singing. You look down and see you are standing in a pool of blood, you turn around and see your body lying there while your phone goes off. Your friend is calling, You try to grab your phone but it goes right threw your hand. You stare at your body confused. It then hits you, this can't be real. I'm not dead..Am I? ||
Everything lately makes me want to have something freaky happen. I want to be a vampire, I want to be possessed, I want to be the evil for no reason, and this song gives me that in a way
Can you make a 10 hour loop of this please? Not so I can fall asleep to it, I just want to listen to it for 10 hours straight because it's incredible and amazing.

OKAY BUT THIS IS MY IMAGERY OF THIS: There is a new reverend in the local church, since the priest has passed on, and although charming and collected, there is and off-centre and weighty feeling around him, following him, it seems. A feeling of guilt envelopes the whole town around the church, a feeling that no one within can shake. So, someone who is overrun with the unbearable guilt of something unknown, bursts into the church in the middle of the night, unable to escape it anymore. They collapse into one of the pews and cry up to the stained glass depictions of the Virgin Mary and plead to her for salvation, for Him to take the constant, unshakeable agony away. They scream so loud that the storm can no longer be heard over the painful sobs of the forgettable sinner. Yet the reverend saunters into the flickering light of the storm, looking deathly pale, ill and tired, but still angelic with a kind, feigned-innocence his expression that is undetectable to the masses and insignificant to the person in their time of need. And almost as if the person was expected, he goes to them, putting a thumb to their forehead and in a gentle tone, says: “just sleep, my child.”
you burst into a cathedral, after hiking for hours just to realize a storm is coming. you can hear the roaring thundering sounds outside, the rain pounding on the roof, sprinkling onto the windows. you sit down by a pew, and put in your earbuds, tucking your knees to your chest. you shut your eyes, taking a short rest. you open your eyes to notice, a man, sitting next to you. he has ghost white hair, a raven colored suit and a tie as white as snow tucked into it. his eyes, dark as the night sky. you hear him howl, “wake up” over, and over again, echoing through the cathedral.
I burst in the old church, drenched to the bone with rain. The outside sound was too loud for the opening of the door to be heard, I assumed. I could barely hear the foot falls myself. Towards the front of the church most of the old cushions sat suprisingly dry, the figure of a boy not much older than me paced in front of the pews. His dark skin and messy clothes were popping out against the aged wood. I opened my mouth to speak and show he wasn't alone but before I could get anything out he pressed a button on a phone. Music started playing, something I didn't recognize. It was mostly drowned out by the deafening rain. Out of curiosity, I didn't say anything and quietly sat in an old pew. Within moments his deep voice rang through the church. How he could be so clear above the weather was beyond me but the pure beauty and sadness I heard sent shivers through my spine. I couldn't be sure that is wasn't the rain. The song sounded angry to my untrained ears. The only words I would catch were 'Letting go of your dreams,' and 'sleep.' Figuring I should get up and make known of my presence, he suddenly let out howls of the word and once again I sat back down. Fearing if I interrupted now he'd surely be more angry than if I waited. Finally, the song seemed to come to and end. He hummed though the last few seconds before smashing a finger on the phone, silencing it. I stood, eyes wide with wonder. "Hello," My voice echoed through the chapel. This reads like a shitty wattpad fan fiction and I hate it, but whatever this'll do.
U went to explore outside while bored one night and run into an abandoned cathedral to escape the rain and slam the door behind you. You hear a distant singing that doesn't sound like angels or a ghost but it's echoing back and forth through your ears as u get closer to where its coming from. As the singing gets louder, you see a dark silhouette of what looks like a man with messy hair holding a microphone. You hide behind a pillar watching the man sing his heart out. U sit on the ground behind the pillar and fall asleep to his voice. You wake up to him screaming wake up over and over. U peak around the pillar and start breathing heavily in fear thinking he'll see you. You look away as the man stops singing and look back to see now one there but a note where he was standing that says "wake up. Run far away from here." In fear, you bolt towards the door yanking it open and running home and laying in your bed still breathing heavily trying to process what u just experienced. This was fun to write feel free to add on
