Definitely Gwenyth 😉 Amazing Kelly thank you for sharing - love the pocket cut around the images - I'm doing that - pockets don't need to have straight edges - what have I been thinking all this time 🤷🏻♀️ Oh and... they are old friends and she is clearly hatching a plan for shenanigans that he thinks is a really bad idea.
Hi Lynn. Yeah, let our pockets run free. Also, it sometimes help cut down on the likelihood that they will chip or fray when stuff is put in them. Just saying.
Ha. Colette, I completely understand. The last one is always The Best One I've Ever Done. And the truth is, I always have conflicted feelings when one of these sells. It feels wrong to let go of them. I have to think about this in the new year.
Thank you, Regina. That means a lot to me. For years no one "saw" my work and now I feel it has a chance to be shared and that makes me happy for the pieces. (Yeah, I am kind of crank that way, worried about how the books feel.😉)
I loved these pages, it actually felt like a continuous story was being told. Do you remember if one spread sort of lead to another? It just felt there was so much connection🥰 I also really like the fluid nature inspired shapes of Art Noveau, the cover is gorgeous and when I first saw it I thought the flower was actually part of the original cover🙂 Even the title of the book, fits what's inside, wonderful 😌
Hi Tanja. I sometimes do themed books but almost always just make the layouts up as I go along. A book like this takes a couple of months to make and "continuity" is too hard. Starting afresh section to section is more sane. Thank you for those kind words and thoughts! Kelly
Good golly gurl, I just adore your altered books!! Every page is delicious, but I really enjoyed that first open spread! Kelly, you are amazing, your books are amazing!
I very much enjoy your altered book "walk-throughs" 😊 I might mention that another reason to apply encaustic to a thick page is that the wax may crack if it is applied to a page that has any flex. Cheers!
Thanks for the heads up on that one, Kathy. I can see you're quite right. Definitely have had mixed results with encaustic and paper but when it works it really works.
Well, I'm very glad you are adding a bit of encaustic. Wax has a beautiful quality that could add a shiny, cloudy, possibly mysterious effect. You can also add a little color to your wax if you want. I think most pages in your altered books are stiff enough. So, experiment away!!
Hi Debbie. One, I am working on an online course for altered book making for early next year, and two, go ahead and get started. The best way is to buy a cheap book and just start doing stuff and learning from what looks good. Practice in the cheap book, then move on to a nicer one. 🌻🌼🌷

Just outstanding Kelly, no-one does altered books quite like you, they are a piece of art for sure.
Thank you, dear Nicola. That means a lot to me and you have made my day.💕
My favorite pages, no these, no those-okay-love the entirety! 🤷♀️

Another beautiful book! Your work is very distinctive and bold, I would know it anywhere💕

Love your books. They're like a trip through Kelly's Wonderland...
Thanks bunches, Catherine. They look like the inside of my head, so I am a very lucky woman.
You are so very talented. I love what you do 😀
Why thank you, Nicola. I am a very lucky woman. 🌷🌷🌻🌻🌼🌼
A lovely book!
Thank you, Jenny, and Happy New Year!
Beautiful Kelly.
Thank you so, Pauline.

This is lovely I think the woman and guy caption might read ' Honey I just bought my 100th pair of shoes!'
Hahahaha. You can't have too many shoes or handbags. Or can you?
Beautiful Kelly
Thank you, Debbie!
Must have a go of one of these lovely share, 💗👍x

Beautiful book!
Thank you, Susan.
Beautiful. Art as much as craft.
I like your thinking!
@@BookandPaperArts What a nice guy!
@@ellenbourdeaux2498 Indeed. But he may be biased. (I like that in a man.)
Very interesting!
