Hi Flavia, you can try this instant Sannas recipe without yeast, Recipe Video: th-cam.com/video/mMmEr2xprKI/w-d-xo.html
Am using different steamer. My sannas are not cooking properly on top. Is it because of the steam coming out from the sides.
Can we make in idli stand

Thank you for this video. Just tell me after putting yeast how long to ferment the batter. And should the batter be kept inside the fridge or out, If have to keep overnight?
Hi Cecilia, after adding yeast mixture to the batter the fermentation depends on the climate, if it is humid fermentation will happen quickly so keep checking the batter if it has risen every hour or so, (it took me about 6 hours because when I made this recipe video it was winter here), no need to refrigerate the batter
@@FatimasCuisine thanks dear
Can I use baking soda instead of yeast
If I use constant yeast then how much?
Please could you specify whether the raw rice should be soaked . If so, how long, as also how long should the yeast solution be kept aside before adding it to the batter. How long should the batter be kept aside before pouring it into individual moulds. Thanks
Hi Lakshmi, all the instructions are listed in the video, only what I'd like to mention is that after adding yeast mixture to the batter, the fermentation depends on the climate, if it is humid, fermentation will happen quickly, so keep checking the batter if it has risen every hour or so, (it took me about 6 hours because when I made this recipe video it was winter here)
Hi fatima..very nc n easy recipe...but one thing some pple use lemonade no while mkng paste..
Hi Mel, may be, it can be made in different ways 🙂
Thnxx dr...

Hi Fatima, I love to make sananas. I love d way u make sananas
Ingredients are not very clear. Second very difficult to get toddy.
I require your help to make good sananas.
With using yeast.
Thanks a lot & God Bless u.
Hi Jocyleen, ingredients are listed in the description and this recipe does not contain toddy
I have made sanna batter should I keep to ferment for 8 hours
Hi Dolours, after adding yeast mixture to the batter the fermentation depends on the climate, if it is humid fermentation will happen quickly so keep checking the batter if it has risen every hour or so, (it took me about 6 hours because when I made this recipe video it was winter here)
Can u plz tel me how much toddy to b used for 250 gms of rice?
Hi .....nice recipe but can you make with toddy recipe
Why ? Should the batter be thick or yeas was less
Hello Fatima from where can get this sanna steamer??
Hi Sandra, I had ordered the steamer online long back
This is a clever recipe though I will say I do it the Goan way and let the batter ferment overnight it has better flavour..These are my fav things on a hot day with a Vindaloo and some Sannas what is so wrong with that oh and maybe some pickle we all love vinegary things..It's just superb :-)
I made but after steaming 15min they were soft and breaking .taste was good
Hello fatima's yes it's very nice Sanna but same people useing Uno the place off yeast charup.
Thank you 😊
Mam I made with idli rice. You have made these sannas with which rice goa red rice or boiled rice
I have used raw rice
I made of idli rice and to ferment it took me 6 hours
Today I will try of goa ukde rice / goa red parboiled rice. Will let you know tomorrow how many hours it takes to ferment
Hi.. no suur(coconut toddy) is to be added? Coz that's a necessary ingredient in our traditional sannas right? In case it is to be added then how much and how will it affect the recipe?
Hi Ryan, I know that toddy is used in authentic sanna’s recipe, toddy isn’t available where I'm based, so I have used yeast instead, if you’re using toddy you can use 1 cup of toddy (i.e. 250ml) instead of water to grind raw rice and coconut and follow the same recipe. Also fermentation of the batter depends on the climate, if it is humid fermentation will happen quickly so keep checking the batter if it has risen every hour or so, (it took me about 6 hours because when I made this recipe video it was winter here)
@@FatimasCuisine thank you so much :)
You're welcome Ryan 😊
Which is raw rice ..is it goan rice!
Just to clarify, Is Raw rice uncooked rice??
Yes
Fatimas Cuisine would any type of rice do? Could I use basmati?
Hi, basmati rice is not “raw rice” and is not recommended for this recipe, you can use any white raw rice, if white raw rice is not available then you may use parboiled rice for this recipe 🙂
You did not give time, for how long the batter is to be fermented.
where is SUR?
I just wanna ask. Is this supposed to taste slightly sour?
Hi Evan, no, It shouldn't taste sour at all :)
@@FatimasCuisine I've tried making it twice and it keeps tasting a little sour. So what am i doing wrong?
Hi Evan, maybe it's slightly sour because of too much fermentation
@@FatimasCuisine should i let it ferment for less than 6 hours then?
Hi Evan, fermentation of the batter depends on the climate, if it is humid fermentation will happen quickly so keep checking the batter if it has risen every hour or so, (it took me about 6 hours because when I made this recipe video it was winter here)
What abt urad dal
sujata Fernandes, no need for urad dal😊
Fatimas Cuisine OK thanks
