I actually found the perfect heels for cosplaying Grell at a goodwill. The heel tips were broken off though and I had to paint parts of the shoes red. I only had acrylic paint. I had to put on about six layers to get decent coverage. Also, for Grell, I may or may not use my cloak for Edward Elric, but with the hood pinned over the symbol. Is it weird that I'm going to be using my Grell shoes for prom?

I'd say you could definitely something at thrift stores for those cosplays! They can often have a lot of old or vintage clothes and trinkets as well so that would probably help with your steampunk.

Thrift stores are the best for cosplay. My first cosplay boots I found at a thrift store for a dollar 0.0 they were perfect until my feet grew out of them. I like to cosplay scientists a lot so I even bought two lab coats for like 2$ each. Lab coats are so expensive

Man I love in a teeny tiny town in BC, Canada and we have 1 thrift store with very little things it's so hard to find anything. I need to go to a city and just binge on thrift store stuff for cosplay because the CLOSEST city (which is tiny for a city but much bigger shopping places than my town) is a 5 hour drive away. Vancouver is 13 hours drive away. Also THE GRELL COAT IS AMAZING FUCK I LOVE MY BABE GRELL AND GRELLS COAT IS AMAZING!

I went to my local good will and I found a long red coat that is perfect for a grell cosplay. only for 12 dollars. soon after I made research on the company and found out its actual price was 75 dollars 😱! I also found a John Egbert cosplay shirt for 2 dollars. I even found a Sailor moon cosplay top for 3 dollars. it did have a coffee stain by the side so I took it to my local dry cleaners.

you're so lucky you could find a coat for Maka!! I'm cosplaying Maka at a convention and im so upset that i had to but the cosplay (which was $50 btw...) do you have any tips for keeping a cumbersome prop from hitting people and staying out of the way at conventions?
I knew a Maka cosplayer that had a really big scythe and she would carry it straight up and above her so the blade was over everyones heads. Otherwise I'd say have one hand hold the pole and the other hold the end of the blade so you have control where it goes. Hope that helps!
