I think what I love so far is the various voice lines and interaction between the characters, both the player characters and the npcs. I think my favorite quip so far was between my female psyker and a male veteran which was along the lines of:
Veteran "You lot wouldn't make it a day in the Guard. Then again, few do"
Psyker "If you are here then technically you didnt make it in the Guard either"
"you lot think this is tough? you haven't seen the real stuff"
"you're not from cadia, you've never seen the real stuff"

Female Zealot: "I don't need your help, heretic![Or something along those lines, I don't remember exactly what the Zealot said but they weren't happy about that quip lol]
alot of time i just burst out laughing because of the interactions voice line hahaha
I think the Splatter-Psyker just thinks he is in the middle of a dream. 'Oh dear, I got blood all over my dream' XD
Dude. Splat. Me too. A lot of things have faded over the years......comics, DnD, etc. If anything, my love for 40K has only gotten stronger over the years.

especially DnD since they went full woke and started ruining so many established lore.
It's also gotten so dumb edgy in some places...

@@Forsak3nBreed1982 definitely gives vibes of DRG (the combat variety and satisfying gunplay) in the setting of Wolfenstein crossed with Dead Space which is exactly what a 40k game should be.
I love how Splat clearly remembers all the absolute insanity in the Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer. I freaking loved that little black book.
A commissar is legally required to execute you if you drop and lose your Lasgun. your life is worth less than the gun you carry - Also as a guardsman, you're by imperial law required to NOT hand over your lasgun to any other authority than an authorized Imperial Command Superior (or Commissar upon his command). This also includes Local Law Enforcement, Adeptus Arbites and Space Marines.
Splat mentioned the reloading animations. Pay close attention or slow down the vid, at 32:53 when reloading the guy holds two bullets in while the rest falls out. Yep. That's attention to detail right there.
I found this to be a pretty fun afternoon. The custom character background is great as it customizes your characters voice overs. I thought it was hilarious how my psyker crazy voice guy called someone with the same settings his sibling all game. I think it's a psyker thing but fun for the first time anyway.
The guns feel good, which not every game gets.
Yeah if you are in a group with another psyker you and the other psyker will address each other as sibling. Some lines include "Ammo over here sibling" "sibling you should tend your wounds" and my favorite "Do not show weakness in front of the blanks" (When reviving a downed psyker as a psyker)
@@abcj17 so it's the same as when two space marines from the same chapter refer to one another as "brother" and marines from another chapter as "cousin" despite the only thing they have in terms of blood relation is the geneseed?

yo, that load screen with the breakdown of the mission is awesome. one thing i that prevented me form really liking vermintide was I really was never invested in the missions since half the time I didn't know what i was doing. that simple voice over briefing is soo much better then text and adds a ton in terms of immersion, imo.
Vermintide has Lohner brief you during the loading screens the exact same way, I don't get what you're saying

Everytime Splat went into a zealous frenzy got me super hyped as well.
The single bullet reload was indeed a wonderful surprise!
Wait till you yank the mag from a rifle, switch to sword cut some baddies, back to rifle just to shove a magazine in to finish the reload.
I even needed only to cock it one time.
So dynamic.
i like how the red dot optic looks like an arch you'd see in a church, and the character you created looks like an attilan rough rider

Of course, the psyker head pop is more of a single target nuke, also kills armored dudes in one go. Plague Ogryns and bosses also take a good chunk of damage from it.
On 3* difficulty it stops being a 1 shot thing becomes more of a 2-3 shot.

This is incredible, the atmosphere, the combat, just stunning.
The depth of this game is fantastic, all the interesting dialog back and forth, the and the claustrophobic combat against the forces of Chaos. There is only war.

Game looks gorgeous and oozing with lore and little details. I love how at 51:54 a stray lazgun bolt melts a hole in the railing, attention to details like that can really bring the world to life.
I was Warhammer40k curious but a few of Splattercats videos he went into lore and the universe, that velvety voice converted me

the lasgun feels properly punchy, it gets memed on as a flashlight, but it definately hits like it should. the desynce thing has been reported as a common issue, hopefully it can be fixed by release
I'm more of a solo player, if the bots aren't just completely incompetent this seems like a game I'd pick up. Love warhammer 40k also.
Largely played Psycher so far, got mine to 12. Hands down they are the best for taking out specials. Once you got that brainburst locked in even if they bugger off out of LOS they still pop.

Darktide expansions centering on Tau fireteams, Aeldari squads, or like you mentioned Votann teams would be so sick. As much as I love the setting and understand why the Imperium are the protagonists, I so badly want to explore games from other points of view - give me Deep Rock Votann :P

dude when i did my first easy mission a plague ogryn was literally the first enemy my squad fought it kept pushing us out of bounds but we got it, best first impression ever

correct me if im wrong but i think the psykers head remover is meant to be anti specials, and maybe an explosion might be a spec path
correct, psyker is the best special killer right now, gotta use it to drop heavily armored enemies quickly. also it can be pre-charged for enemies you can hear and not see yet.
I really hope they don't force you to play multiplayer, looks fun otherwise. Still wish someone would make a decent Dark Heresy game
If there was an offline, solo option I'd play the ever loving crap outta this.
