    I don’t care how fast EVs are, a car like this will forever be a more engaging and enjoyable car to own and drive. The simple way the engine shakes the car and roars to life when you start it alone is all you have to understand for why EVs will never be as enjoyable. You could sit in this car in a parking lot idling and revving it and giggle like a schoolgirl.

    Couple things" this car does have no lift shift, you can change the interior lighting to 18 different colors, there is a setting for silent mode, the infotainment is slanted to prevent glare and you dont necessarily have to supercharge it to get more power. In May, I shipped the remaining 2021 Camaro SS just before the Camaro was discontinued in Korea. German cars are popular in Korea, and as an avid bmw fan, I have driven the m340i for over 2 years, and it is true that I had a preconceived notion about the Camaro. However, the Camaro, which I accidentally test drove, came as a shock to me, and was selected as the last naturally aspirated vehicle with an internal combustion engine, 8-cylinder engine, and shipped immediately. I've ridden about 2500km now and I think it's the best car for me in many ways. I enjoyed the video and thank you.

    Had mine 1SSLE 6spd for 2 years and now around 31000km, I got it for MSRP here in Canada which is worth every penny, and it was actually cheaper then the Mustang GT with performance PKG which I was originally considering.. I have been a JDM fan boy all my life and this is my first American V8, and I wish I have gotten one earlier instead of spending so much time, money and effort modifying JDMs.. Power of course is plenty and personally think its perfect for day to day use, its not too insane like the ZL1 or GT500.. Stock exhaust on the Camaro is insanely awesome, it screams, pops, bangs and it becomes all quiet and under the radar once the valve closes.. the shifter feel is amazing and super tight and easy to use.. the car cuts through corners like hot knife on butter and puts the power down easily with the fat fat tires... the clutch is very easy to use and with all that torque its difficult to stall lol... MPG kinda suck and takes a lot of expensive oil when changing fluids but hey gotta pay to play XD and when I drive it all that goes out the window lol..

    It seems in a way that GM has treated the Camero like a red-headed step kid for the last nearly 50; year's. They don't want to quite make it too great as it may rob the new Corvette of it's thunder. To keep the price below the C8, GM just hangs on the Camero design. I really like the Camero, but the designer's should be cut loose to compete with their own C8. No it will not be the same, no it will not cost as much, but they can still do a better job designing it. I would like to see a flash back to the '69 Camero, with modern updates in design. Similar to what Ford did with the Stang. I love the fact it has kept the manual shift, I really like the souped up HP. Bring back the modern '69, and you have a monster.

    • @FL50ssp
      @FL50ssp ปีที่แล้ว

      GM did that with C7 and Camaro. The result is/was ZL1 1LE, which is just a little slower than C7 Z06 at most tracks, and is less expensive. Given the weight difference between the two, a Gen 5 Z/28 diet for ZL1 1LE would close or negate this performance gap. How many people bought a ZL1 1LE? Look at the Gen 5 Z/28, everyone wanted one until they hit the showroom floor and lingered until deep discounts. The problem is what most of us "wish" for is here now, only we don't realize it. Take for example Gen 6 SS 1LE, a much better car than frod can produce and on par with the german sports cars costing 2x or more. Yet people didn't rush to their Chevy dealer to buy one. The media (not youtube crap) mustnag vs SS 1LE tests have always had the Camaro prevail, yet they remain underappreciated. Why is that?

      @@Walkdthock They have the same engine and transmissions. The LT1 is pretty barebones on everything else though.
      1LE has wider and stickier tires, bigger brakes, magneride suspension, dual mode exhaust, e-LSD, more cooling, more down force from the splitter and spoiler, nicer racing seats, and the heads up display.
      If you get the 2SS version you get heated/cooled seats, better sound system, blind spot detection, and a couple other goodies I can't remember. I have the 1SS 1LE.
      The LT1 is great if you're on a budget and just want a nice big V8 engine to zip around in. Flooring it in the LT1 is just as fun as flooring it in the 1LE, altho you might have a better launch with the 1LE due to the tires. The 1LE has better looks and lots of track goodies and other luxuries, but if you only care about street performance you can't really beat the LT1 for the money.
      I loved the LT1 I had, but the SS 1LE I found was the exact one I wanted and it was local and I got a great deal on it and the trade-in.

    Actually GM performance cars had no-lift-shift since the Cobalt SS and CTS-V1 back in the early 2000s... they just didn't advertise it much until the new boosted Cadillacs. I'm not 100% sure what the minimum RPM you need to be at for the SS 1LE, but over 5500 is a safe bet. Also enabling rev-match extends the shift time. Actually, rev-match matches revs both up and down the gearbox - try enabling it and shifting slowly, you'll notice the revs won't fall less than necessary even when upshifting. For both features to work the clutch has to be fully depressed though, like pedal fully down to the floor.

And as you mentioned ford had to go to a better tire in an attempt to close the gap with the SS 1LE. Even if mach 1 was similar in price it still has an inferior chassis which is a handful when pushed hard. I've seen this trait in both mustnag and gt350 cars. During my last track day, a 2021 pp2 flipped and went to the scrap yard when the driver lost control in a high speed corner. The driver was shaken up but walked away. Why the frod guys think it is ok to cut corners on the chassis boggles my mind, especially when the cars are advertised as track capable/ready. "the mustnag chassis is a mess, the car doesn't feel planted like the Camaro, the steering is vague, and hard to tell what the front and back of the car is doing, it is dangerous, not a track car...etc.". AT 6'4 280 Far more comfortable for me than the Vette. The thing will EAT highway miles, all while getting 28-32mpg. The seats are sooo comfortable. And with the MagRide, it is butter smooth. Put it in Track and its on RAILS. Mine isn't even the 1LE! Has EVERY other option however. Cannot believe these didn't get more attention. I cross-shopped GT Mustangs, as well as Q60RS...The Camaro was the best of both worlds to me. Interior is also very nice. The visibility does take some getting used to. Its beyond a bargain because its simply about the CHASSIS, which is BEYOND current generation BMW M3/M4 cars and also better than the upcoming Mustang S650 chassis. Everything else can be modded, but for sports cars the chassis itself is paramount to making a REAL drivers car.
