Messerschmitt Me 262 escorted to RIAT by Spitfire & P-51

For the first time since 29th November 1945, a Messerschmitt Me 262 has flown over UK skies!
The Me 262 was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft - it was considered to be a game-changer for Luftwaffe during the second world war after it became operational in mid-1944. It is thought that had it flown sooner, the course of the war could have changed dramatically as the 262 completely outmatched anything the allies operated.

Not something you see every day! I’ve been lucky to see the 262 up close at its home in Manching at the Airbus DE Museum and it’s impressive but I’m still yet to see it where it belongs!
