    He seems to be underrated. People hear Green Day's songs and on first listen a lot of their songs seem extremely simple, which is mostly because of the guitar's power chords, but when you listen closely to the bass lines on Dookie, you'll realize there's tons and tons of details in them.

    • @gabrielcasagrande9463
      @gabrielcasagrande9463 5 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      If you look closely to the guitars, you gonna see that there's much more than power chords. Billie Joe mixes power chords and full chords and uses different chord shapes in the same song.

      i play with my finger nails i make like im holding a pick (invisible pick) then i strike the strings with my index finger one thing i did when first learning this useful technique when you dont have a real pick is... dont draw blood by accidentally cutting your top fingernail hurts like a B****
      Actually for as long as i can remember i've never used a pick and will most likely never need the use for one as i already have a pick... its my own hand because you see tone really is in the hands as much as it is in the bass/guitar.

      Da King Nothing you're really attacking a child for writing on a sticky note? what ISNT punk is elitism, leave the damn kid alone & let them have fun supporting their favorite artists. this is the kinda low-blow elitism that actual punks don't wanna be associated with, do better.

    Mike Dirnt was the reason I picked up bass, after my dad got me into Green Day. He and I would blast it all the time and he really wanted me to play bass.

    One of the main reasons I have always been drawn to Green Day besides the music is how humble and cool of a guy Mike is. Hes just a really likable guy and he really cares about his fans. But if I were to see him at guitar center I feel like I can approach and we could talk about anything.

    I play bass in a family of guitarist, and i dont play cause its easier cause in some points its not. I play bass cause i love the sound of lower instruments.
    And when i picked up my first bass i was hooked it sounded so nice

    A great bass player is always a contributor, That's what Mike is saying. Whether adding an entire bass line or a couple of well placed notes, the bassist anchors the song! ⚓ 🎶

    That's why I like green day, rather than just focusing on the singing and giving the bass one note to continuously play per bar and give the drums a generic beat, they actually make every part of each song interesting.
