I bought biggest reel of this model I believe I’m using 40 pound braid on 9 foot silstar power tip Boy reel took a 1 1/2 foot black tip shark pretty easy Love the reel Glad I learned how to use bait feeder now great video
I had two 3K and 4K. 3 K locked up and now the 4K has trouble on the retrieve (slipping in the reel) so its a pain. Im trying to decide if I should try 3 for a charm.I liked them when they were up and running. Not shore if they a truly inshore ready. Thank you
The rod is probably from a different brand. That was just a sticker if I'm not mistaken.I haven't seen a Kastking rod for heavy set-up like that yet...
@Ttow49 they have separate tension settings. One doesn't affect the other since the baitfeeder automatically disengages when you start reeling in. I have the 4000 series.
What do you usually throw on this reel? I am thinking of getting the 4000 model for an all around live baitsetup for bobbers and lighter bottom rigs. How would the 3000 model be for fish up to 30 lbs? Looking for the lightest setup with a baitfeeder that i can attach to a medium heavy bass rod, just worried the 4000 might be a little big.
just bought the sharky baitfeeder 6000 on amazon. i'm looking for a good 10' rod. leaning towards a uglystick bigwater...anyone have any advice on a good rod setup?
@@thomasscott4400 I'm also trying to pair my reel up with a nice rod, haven't bought one yet, waiting for some suggestions. Cant wait to use my reel on some big blue cats or some reds.
@@David-sg4se uglystik bigwater is a good rod but if you go with anything 10ft or longer get in heavy if you can and it will still have plenty sensitivity
Which model or series was this one you were showing? 5000? I just got mine in the mail today and I can't seem to get home cast enough to set it up on my Big Water. I'm excited to see what the combination can do.
I just bought the 6000 for a freshwater setup, but I was wondering something. I heard this reel had problems with corrosion when used in salt water? is this the case or has that been resolved?
Hi there. They are SW approved but should still be maintained correctly. We stand behind our products and offer a very attractive warranty. If there are any issues we will gladly take care of them for you under warranty.
@@Drocka69 the 4000 is a bit heavy. I also bought a Megatron 2000, and that's what I'm using right now on my MH's. Just try to align the lure weight and line you're going to put into it and you'll be golden 👌🏼
KastKing Nope this was a misunderstanding I ordered the wrong one and Amazon was great enough to fix it all up and send me what I need in time to take it out for surf fishing tomorrow.
LOVE THESE REELS: However, The rear drag lightest setting , should be lighter. My Okuma Epixor, pays out line , on lightest setting if you breathe on the line; Exaggeration lol. BUT..... I will continue to buy them , best Quality bang for buck!! They are like the KIA Car concept, 20 percent more Reel, for 20 percent less cost.
What's with the kastking logo flashing? Its not a freespool, it's a 2nd drag....10% of line strength? 5 lbs for 50# line? Why does it have 20lbs of drag? For 200# line?
I like the 4000 size, handles larger fish just fine while not being too bulky for smaller fish. Also depends on your rod. I have my 4000 on a MH 7' ugly stik and it balances perfectly.
KastKing word I got the 4000 coming in the mail tomm I love you kastking you guys are my go to reels now I own a summer and will be buying a assassin soon ;) nothing but kastking for rest of my fishing days
I thought this was a good reel. But it's not. I also thought my rod had issues. It didn't. My point. The kastking Sharky Baitfeeder lll 4000 has a major problem. The part that connects to your rod has major Flex. I hooked up with a very large fish. I thought something was off with my rod saddle. I had bend. It didn't feel right.. Turned out the reel was flexing at the connection with my rod. It just didn't feel solid. I took the reel off and tried twisting it with my hand. It flexed a lot! It's not a solid reel. Very dissatisfied.
Mace S that doesn’t sound good! So sorry to hear. Please contact our customer support and we can look into this issue more. They can be reached at service@eposeidon.com
@@KastKing I just purchased the Sharky lll baitfeeder 4000 and everything worked perfect until this past weekend. The bottom drag has stopped clicking. Seems to still adjust and provide resistance, but makes zero noise. Only had it for a week and the "loud" clicking was the main reason for purchasing.
Hey Guys. I was looking into some reviews for the Baitrunner III and found this vid regarding one of your older Baitrunner reels. Have these issues been addressed on the Baitrunner III? th-cam.com/video/0znZ_5GA_vI/w-d-xo.html
Been looking at this for 3 years now. I need to just buy it already
Just got my Sharky 3 baitfeeder. The best reel I’ve used. Highly recommend it. Has a great drag and smooth retrieve.

Yes, it is. I’m glad you explained how to use the drags, very helpful for a newbie using two drags.
Glad it was helpful!
I just got the 6000 since I fish in brackish water. I am going out tomorrow with it for the first time. Can't wait.
That’s awesome!!! Can’t wait to see what you catch with it!

Just looking for an opinion. For the Berkley Big Water 8'2" - am I looking for the 5000 or 6000?
Nice. Awesome review. Just picked one up. 6000
I just bought the 6000 and some 65 lbs test Mega 8. I am excited to hit some snapper or maybe a cobia.
That’s going to be AWESOME
what is the size that you used?
Good informative video ut u forget to explain the function of the lever below the reel. What is it for?
to engage or dis-engage the anti-reverse function
They made a 6000. I bought 2 just yesterday and they are here already. One day later
how much does your reel wiggle at the neck?? mine has a enough to catch my attention. 5lb catfish make me worried its going to snap.
Nice explianed
Can we use this reel for lures fishing?
Yes you can
audio problem
i see a sccy cpx in a shoulder holster!
I’m gonna buy the reel. It seems like really good quality for the price. What rod was that? It look’s tough.

I notice you Have a 6000 now, it is almost identical to the Okuma Avenger 55. Kast King has more bearings and is 1.5 oz. heavier.
How do you change the spools out. I have the 6000
Fantastic Video Nicely Done
Hi chunky!
What's the difference from the regular sharky 3? I need a 4000 for English 6 meter cane. thanks.
Baitfeeder feature/function. You're better off with the 6000series for that 6m rod IMO..
Does the tension on the drag affect casting
I mean the baitfeed knob
@Ttow49 they have separate tension settings. One doesn't affect the other since the baitfeeder automatically disengages when you start reeling in. I have the 4000 series.
The sound didn't do the video justice at all. Nice video though I just have to have it turned all the way up.
Looking to purchase one for river fishing for medium/large catfish size from my boat. What size do you think is best?

3000 is probably a better fit, especially with the baitfeeder option. It will be less bulky on a smaller bass rod.

10% of line strength on drag? unless I am misunderstanding you, thats insane lol.
Would the 3000 size be overkill for bass fishing ?
Not at all!

What fish are you catching?
So my sharky 3 model 5000 came in today and it doesn't have the bait caster piece on it..
Spinning reels don't have baitcaster parts...typically.

VERRRY POOR AUDIO!😶😥
Sorry 😞
Hate to say it but all reels have a "bait runner" they call it a loose drag =/
Last Hope Thank you so much for sharing with us.
True but if you lose a big fish because you over tightened the drag in the heat of the moment you'll wish you had a secondary drag system
