I agree with you, Zee. The only thing I’d add is all three of the new subjects being painted are weird just being on their own in a frame. It’s strange to see kites and umbrellas just floating in space on a frame.

that's what I thought... I feel like pretty flowers, mountain ranges and river/lakes would have fit the teme of painting landscapes way better...

Nice review; I have and have played the expansion and enjoy it but you're right, it isn't at all essential. The yokai are a bit of a divergence from the original theme sure but they're also not entirely without precedent: yokai have been showing up in Japanese art and paintings for centuries, so they do make some sense thematically.

Thank you so much for being transperant and honest. I nice addition but nothing that makes the game that much better. For now I will be good.

I don't like the setup here... before each game, you need to sort the deck and combine 2 sets from the base game and 2 from the expansion - it's really time-consuming and I don't like it. It makes the setup quite long :/

Yeah that's the biggest flaw in the expansion, it makes the setup time longer

I love the base game, such a clean design, guess this is a pass.

    Not essential expansion imo.
Base game was ok. Fun game, not groundbreaking. This is more variations on the same thing.

Base game is fine and forgettable.
