What this woman is a saying is 💯 true. She just said everything that I went through applying Ghana visas for my 3 kids to travel to Ghana, I went through exactly the same stress at the Ghana consulate in Hong Kong. The same procedures I have to go through. It took me almost 2 month back and forth exchanging of emails with the ghana consulate, I keep submitting them same documents to them over 5 times both online and hard copies in person. They just want to frustrate Ghanaians traveling back to Ghana who are holding foreign nationals or have naturalised abroad. Even the Ghanaians there who want to renew their Ghana passport at the Ghana embassies abroad they still frustrate them for silly reasons. We have leadership problems. 3rd world country facing massive economy crises should rather make it more flexible for foreigners or tourist coming from advance countries to come to Ghana without stress. Because we the Ghanaians living here in advance countries we are helping the Ghana economy, we are pumping a lot of money into the Ghana economy, so why do you wickedly makes it difficult for these same Ghanaians returning back to Ghana, Ghanaians living abroad and tourists coming to Ghana are rather coming to Ghana to spend money, they should even waiver their visas to Ghana. Look at a rich advance city like Hong Kong, after covid they are trying all their best to boost their economy through tourism, the Hong Kong government is even giving out over 500,000 free flights tickets to tourists to visit Hong Kong, The Thai government has even legalised smoking of weed just to attracts tourists to visit Thailand, Indonesia granting visa waiver system and visa on arrival to tourists to come to Indonesia, so if these countries that are far advanced than Ghana, are using these strategies to attract tourists and investors to their countries, why Ghana can’t do better, but rather trying to just make it difficult for the spenders to come to Ghana, look at the tourists industry in Ghana very dry, years back you see lot of tourist trooping in to Ghana, today you hardly see them coming. We need to make use of our resources and our brains to make things more better for the country. Even after covid Ghana government can introduce attractive scheme package that will allow and encourage more tourists to visit Ghana, example waiver the visas, or make it visa free for a period of 2 years, this why we need think tank brain leaders who can think, not empty barrel brain leaders who are just thinking about their stomach. Successful countries are doing good because of leaders. Any house without good leadership, the children of that house will suffer or go astray, leadership is a key major factor in our daily lives. And that’s what we are lacking on the Africa continent.

When people in abroad blame the government of Africa for not supporting unemployed etc, what they fail to realise is that in Europe or USA one cannot do whatever they like, to start your own petty businesslike her mother was selling everything to help her kids, or even acquire a property in Africa is free. One can set a table somewhere and do whatever. But in Europe or elsewhere, the government has taken over everything], so if you have nothing they help you and your kids.

Some of the Ghanaian embassies abroad are a big mess. I recently had a crazy encounter with the Ghanaian embassy here in Washington DC. They are not clear as to what they want to do. In one breadth, they talk about online application today, and talk about paper application tomorrow. You try to log on to their IT online system, and the shameful response will be" We are sorry we are currently experiencing technical difficulties"🫢🫢🫢. First of all, the idea of applying solely online is not fair to older folks who dont know anything about computer. Second of all, their public affairs department that handles interactions with the public is a hot mess - the phone line is always either busy or no one answer the call at all. You sent them email over some issues, and it either takes them forever to answer or dont respond to the very issues or concerns raised. That bs work attitude is exactly what they have brought abroad🫢🫢🫢
