I recently bought my loopstation, and your videos helped me a lot 🥂. Can you also explain every basic things like the Use of track button , mid low high gain, rate ( can’t understand any symbols)…
Glad to help, hope you're having fun with your loopstation! Pressing the track buttons gets you into the loop menu for the corresponding track, but you can also re-assign their function to something else (see th-cam.com/video/PoeZUvoI2b0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OClpu9Z_D89BimGD for more details). In terms of rate and gain, it kinda depends on the effect, but gain usually adjusts volume and rate usually adjusts the speed of an effect/sequencer
Thanks! Baldock beat me to it, so hopefully that already helped. In case you need it in video form, watch this: th-cam.com/video/PoeZUvoI2b0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OClpu9Z_D89BimGD
I think the most popular effect to achieve compression is the sustainer. Also there is a built in compressor in the Slicers. Additionally, you can apply compression on all your input sounds if you go to Menu -> Input -> Dynamics. In my opinion, compression on the MK2 isn't that intuitive, but if you already have experience with it from music production, it should be fine. I'll think about making a video about compression, but it's probably not going to be released anytime soon :(
@@ZharynMusic awesome, thanks a ton. I’m definitely a bit familiar with compression, but legit had no idea that’s what the sustainer does! You’d think they’d call the compressor…a compressor lol 🤷♂️
@@ZharynMusic yeah that's valid. It's not terrible honestly, I've just never actually sat down and messed with the Sustainer at all. The parameter guide says this: "This effect brings down loud input sound and makes quiet input sound louder, giving the original sound a long sustaining quality without adding distortion." Which kind of alludes to compression, but also kind of doesn't lol
@@Crystal-Beatbox Not really, I only got a private one so far, will probably create one for music stuff in the near future. In the meantime, you can message me here on TH-cam or on Discord. I'm always interested in sound design stuff 👍
Using the G2B with just your voice - wouldnt that create out of tune basses unless you have a really stable pitch? Can autotune or ocb bot be used before applying g2b to make up for this? Good video!!
Yes, you are correct, I feel like that's also why some vocally skilled loopers like to use this effect. I did a bit of testing and it seems like you might not want to use it together with Osc Bot. However, both electric and robot seem to work just fine. For robot, you lose a bit of the low frequencies, so electric might be your best choice. There are also other ways to create bass lines, without having to use your voice, such as delay basses, so maybe try that, if that is more comfortable to you.
Finally a new tutorial. Always very excited! All the best
Appreciate it, thanks for watching as always :)
Wow! This is one good tutorial. Germans. They know how to do things correctly. Thank you so much!
Haha, I guess so. Much appreciated!
Great video! The best tutioral i watch on boss rc 505 mk2 so far! :)
Thank you! :)
You are really helpful, you need to make more videos of effects like this. Thank you so much

Thank you, bro🤙🔥🎼☝️
good tutorial as always!! I have a question. How did you change the color of your channels differently?
like the track and fx buttons? ctl func, scroll to the right to "LED" and go right a page

Love your channel !
I'm super curious about the other ways to compress outside of using the Dynamics effect...can you go into detail on that? Or is it in another video?

@@ZharynMusic ope okay I see it’s modeled after the Boss CS-3 which actually makes a ton more sense 😆
@@mhorvy Huh, I didn't know that. I also wish there were better explanations for the Sustainer parameters in the manual...

Tipp for the Radio: Sometimes it is really good for gran. Basses. It kinda boostes the lows and adds a bit of texture. (Lofi 1, Level 100)
That's cool. In general, Radio is pretty useful for sound designing. Maybe I'll do a video on that in future 🤔
@@ZharynMusic this would be cool. Maybe I should try a few thing with it, would be interesting what I can find out🤔
Can I find you on Instagram?
