Charlie I don't know if you have ever seen or heard karen from the clark sisters do this song, but if you google karenclark-shea4d and the song title you'd be pleasantly surprised.
What register is that? When you’re in your belting voice in the 6th octave tell me WTH do you call that? It needs its own name
It's called praise/liturgical dancing
You have to hear Kurt Carrs group sing this, this choir just didn't have the balance and strength in each section, you may be right that they mixed the sopranos out, but in most versions they are screaming loud and high

Soprano was not dropped, her soprano range is too high for normal soprano backup 🤭
